Mel Gibson Overrules Hollywood, Meets with Kari Lake: ‘God Bless You’

Movie legend Mel Gibson has overruled the scolds in Hollywood and met with Republican rockstar Kari Lake.

According to pictures Lake posted on Facebook today, she met with Gibson in a restaurant.

Lake captioned the post: “Thank God for the creative genius of Mel Gibson.

“Without him, there would be wry few movies for me to enjoy.

“God Bless you, Mel.”

In October 2022, Lake said about Gibson and Hollywood:  “Any actor who’s been canceled is now my favorite actor.

“Because that means they are probably doing something good.

“He made some of the only films I can stomach anymore because everything’s gone so woke.

“Pinch me! I still can’t believe I sat next to Mel Gibson for lunch.

“He came to meet me, and I just said, ‘Thank you for making such great movies.’”

Lake said some of her favorite Gibson movies are “Braveheart,” “The Patriot,” and “Apocalypto.”

She said:

“Without him making these amazing movies, I don’t know what I would watch because I’ve become really difficult to watch movies with.

“The minute I start seeing woke stuff happening, I start pointing it out. ‘Did you see that? That was really —’

“My kids say, ‘Mom, we can’t watch movies with you anymore.’

“Unless the movie was from the 1980s, I’m just — I can’t watch it anymore.

“This country is too important,” Lake asserted.

“Our Constitution is too important.

“Our kids’ liberty and freedom is too important.

“These actors in Hollywood who decide that they’re going to trash this country, you’ve lost me forever.”

Robert Downey Jr. also said when Hollywood threw him to the wolves, Mel Gibson was there for him:

“When I couldn’t get sober, he told me not to give up hope and encouraged me to find my faith.

“ He kept a roof over my head and food on the table and most importantly he said if I accepted responsibility for my wrongdoing and embraced that part of my soul that was ugly, hugging the cactus he calls it.

“He said that if I hugged the cactus long enough, I’d become a man.”
