Tim Allen Breaks Silence on Oscars Chaos, Slams Will Smith, Defends Chris Rock: ‘It’s Not Ok’

Hollywood veteran Tim Allen has weighed in on the Oscars chaos that saw actor Will Smith hit comedian Chris Rock in the face.

The “Home Improvement” star ripped Smith for publicly assaulting Rock during the live-televised Academy Awards ceremony.

Allen took to Twitter to break his silence on the shocking incident.

“It’s not ok to come up on stage and hit a dude cause you don’t like the humor,” he said.

“It’s not ok at a Comedy Club, concert hall, or hosting some cheeseball award show.

“Chris Rock is a standup comedian and a standup guy who carried on.

“I think I would have run.”

Smith apologized late last night directly to Rock, which he had not done.

However, many believe he only apologized over fears the Academy may take away his Oscar.

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive,” Smith said.

“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.

“Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong.

“I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be.

“There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

“I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees, and everyone watching around the world.

“I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family.

“I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.

“I am a work in progress.”
