A Labor Day celebration in Brooklyn, New York City, turned violent Monday evening, with at least six people shot, according to the NYPD.
Another person was also slashed in a series of incidents following the West Indian Day Parade.
Authorities said the violence erupted across four different locations in Crown Heights.
The celebrations turned violent as parade crowds dispersed between late afternoon and early evening.
The first shooting was reported around 5:35 p.m. near 1098 Eastern Parkway.
A woman in her 40s was grazed in the back, and a man in his 20s was shot in the leg.
Both victims were hospitalized and are in stable condition.
Less than an hour later, at 6:12 p.m., police said a man was slashed near Eastern Parkway and Nostrand Avenue.
Despite suffering multiple injuries, he declined medical treatment.
He reportedly refused to cooperate with investigators.
At 6:46 p.m., two men were shot in the shoulder near Classon Avenue and Eastern Parkway.
One was taken to Kings County Hospital, while the other arrived by private means.
Both are listed in stable condition.
Minutes later, at 6:55 p.m., another shooting left two more victims injured outside Yard Pot Restaurant and Bakery on Nostrand Avenue and Sterling Street.
A 53-year-old man was struck in the neck and leg and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
A 40-year-old woman was also shot in the ankle.
She later arrived at the hospital in stable condition.
Police confirmed a person of interest is in custody.
However, no further details were released on the suspect’s possible connections to the incidents.
The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
No charges have been announced.
The NYPD has not released the identities of the victims.
