Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) accused President Donald Trump of exhibiting “increasingly erratic” behavior.
The comment comes even as Trump continues to rack up high-profile diplomatic wins on the world stage.
Ocasio-Cortez made the remarks in response to a question from Migrant Insider editor Pablo Manríquez, who asked her:
“How big of a factor is Donald Trump’s cognitive decline, given what we’re seeing at Davos?”
“I think that the president has been acting in increasingly erratic ways,” Ocasio-Cortez said, according to video of the exchange shared on X.
The progressive lawmaker attempted to draw a contrast between media coverage of former President Joe Biden and Trump.
However, AOC pushed the narrative despite Democrats’ own panic over Biden’s mental fitness during the 2024 election cycle.
Referring to the moment when Democrats ultimately pushed Biden aside and nominated Kamala Harris, AOC said:
“I think it is really damning when we think about the degree to which mass media outlets reported on Joe Biden.
“Yet, we are seeing behavior from Donald Trump that is increasingly erratic and alarming,” Ocasio-Cortez continued, claiming “everyone’s pretending that this is normal.”
She went on to assert that America’s “global partners” are witnessing “the entire government apparatus and a party that is willing to watch someone decompensate in front of the world and do nothing about it.”

The White House responded forcefully.
“While deranged Democrats like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez push these blatant lies, President Trump is dominating on the world stage and brokering historic deals to advance the interests of the American people,” said White House spokesperson Liz Huston in a statement.
Huston also pointed to Ocasio-Cortez’s own record during the 2024 campaign, when Biden’s cognitive decline became impossible to ignore after his disastrous debate performance against Trump.
“Don’t forget that after Joe Biden’s brain unraveled on the 2024 presidential debate stage and nearly the entire Democrat Party subsequently panicked and demanded Biden drop out of the race, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez was one of the few delusional holdouts backing and pleading for Joe Biden to remain as their presidential nominee as late as July 8, 2024,” Huston said.
She added, “Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez’s peanut-sized brain either forgot this happened or she thinks the American people are too stupid to remember.”
Indeed, in July 2024, after Biden’s debate collapse but before he formally exited the race, Ocasio-Cortez publicly insisted he remain the nominee.
“Joe Biden is our nominee,” she said at the time.
“He is not leaving this race.
“He is in this race, and I support him.”
By contrast, President Trump has repeatedly highlighted his own cognitive health.
Earlier this year, he announced on Truth Social that White House physicians found him in “PERFECT HEALTH” and that he “ACED” his cognitive examination for the third consecutive time.
“I strongly believe that anyone running for President, or Vice President, should be mandatorily forced to take a strong, meaningful, and proven Cognitive Examination,” Trump wrote.
“Our great Country cannot be run by ‘STUPID’ or INCOMPETENT PEOPLE!”
Trump has previously dismissed Ocasio-Cortez’s attacks outright.
In a Truth Social post last year, he referred to her as “one of the ‘dumbest’ people in Congress.”
As Democrats once again attempt to revive claims about Trump’s mental fitness, the contrast remains stark:
Ocasio-Cortez defended Biden until the very end, while Trump continues to pass cognitive tests and secure headline-grabbing wins abroad.
