Top Apple TV Show Producer Found Dead in Hotel Room

Dana Eden, the producer behind the internationally acclaimed Israeli drama series “Tehran” on Apple TV+, was found dead in a hotel room in Athens, Greek authorities confirmed.

Eden was just 52 years old when she died.

Police discovered Eden’s body on Sunday and are investigating the death as a suspected suicide, according to local reports.

Eden had been in the Greek capital working on production for the fourth season of the Apple TV+ spy thriller.

The show follows a Mossad agent attempting to penetrate Iran’s Islamic regime.

Israeli broadcaster Kan reported that Eden’s brother found her body.

Greek outlet Ta Nea reported that Eden had bruises on her neck and lower body.

The production company behind “Tehran” rejected speculation that Eden’s death involved criminal activity.

A spokesperson for Donna and Shula Productions told The Times of Israel:

“The production company wants to make it clear that the rumors of the death being criminal or nationalistic are not true and baseless.

“We call on the media and the public not to publish unfounded theories and to act with responsibility and sensitivity.

“We want to preserve Dana’s dignity and her privacy.”

Israeli Media Leaders Mourn Industry Figure

Israeli broadcasting leaders expressed grief over Eden’s death, describing her as a central figure in the nation’s television industry.

In a statement, the corporation said:

“Dana was among the senior figures in the Israeli television industry and was a central figure in the creation and leadership of some of the corporation’s most prominent and influential productions.”

Eden’s career spanned multiple successful projects.

In addition to “Tehran,” she worked on “Saving the Wildlife,” “She Has It,” and “Shakshouka.”

The shows helped establish her reputation as a leading creative voice in Israeli media.

“Tehran” is one of Israel’s most prominent television exports.

The show’s third season premiered on Apple TV+ on Jan. 9 after a delay from its originally scheduled July release.
