Arrest Warrant Issued for ‘The West Wing’ Actor Timothy Busfield for Child Abuse Charges

Police in New Mexico have issued an arrest warrant for Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield over allegations of horrific crimes against children.

Albuquerque authorities are pursuing Busfield, known for “The West Wing” and “Thirtysomething,” over allegations that he sexually abused underage boys on the set of “The Cleaning Lady.”

A judge issued an arrest warrant for the 68-year-old actor on Friday.

The charges include child abuse and two counts of criminal sexual contact with minors under 13.

The investigation into these troubling claims began in November 2024, indicating a lengthy process before the warrant emerged.

Police are now actively searching for Busfield, hoping he will surrender to authorities, the Daily Caller reported.

The accusations paint a dark picture, one that challenges the glossy image of the entertainment industry.

Busfield’s current location remains unknown as police hunt for the actor.

However, Busfield’s silence is leaving many to wonder why he hasn’t addressed the situation.

One alleged victim, just 7 years old at the time, claimed abuse occurred on set after filming.

According to TMZ, the boy stated:

“Busfield touched my private parts after a scene had wrapped.”

Prosecutors added that the abuse happened frequently on set.

The child alleged this happened “5 or 6 times between takes,” suggesting a repeated pattern.

A second young actor also reported inappropriate contact by Busfield.

However, further details are not available.

Prior to the allegations from his time on “The Cleaning Lady,” Busfield was accused in 1994 of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old actor who appeared on “Little Big League.”

He denied those claims and sued his accuser for defamation.

The case ended in a settlement, with a judge ordering Busfield to pay the woman $150,000.

These latest claims, tied to a production like “The Cleaning Lady,” highlight potential gaps in protecting child actors.

Hollywood often touts its progressive values, yet stories like this expose a failure to prioritize real safety.

Busfield, also recognized for “Field of Dreams” and “Revenge of the Nerds,” now faces scrutiny that extends beyond one man.

If true, these allegations reflect a broader issue in an industry that too often excuses oversight with empty promises of change.

It’s time for studios to drop the hollow rhetoric and enforce strict protections for vulnerable talent, or risk losing all credibility.
