Bill Clinton Lashes Out Over Epstein Testimony: ‘Stop the Games’

Former President Bill Clinton launched an angry public attack on House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) as his long-awaited testimony about his relationship with convicted child predator Jeffrey Epstein draws near.

Clinton issued a series of posts on X, insisting he has already cooperated with investigators while accusing Republicans of playing politics.

“I have called for the full release of the Epstein files,” Clinton wrote.

“I have provided a sworn statement of what I know.

“And just this week, I’ve agreed to appear in person before the committee.

“But it’s still not enough for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.”

He then criticized Comer’s handling of the proceedings.

“Now, Chairman Comer says he wants cameras, but only behind closed doors,” Clinton continued.

“Who benefits from this arrangement?

“It’s not Epstein’s victims, who deserve justice.

“Not the public, who deserve the truth.

“It serves only partisan interests,” he claimed.

“This is not fact-finding, it’s pure politics.”

In a third post, Clinton escalated his rhetoric, accusing Republicans of “running scared” and using him “as a prop in a closed-door kangaroo court.”

“If they want answers, let’s stop the games & do this the right way: in a public hearing, where the American people can see for themselves what this is really about.”

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton echoed that challenge one day earlier.

In similar remarks, Hillary also urged Comer to hold open proceedings.

“If you want this fight, @RepJamesComer, let’s have it—in public.

“You love to talk about transparency.

“There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing, cameras on.

“We will be there,” she vowed.

The Clintons ultimately agreed to testify after Comer advanced proceedings to hold them in criminal contempt of Congress for refusing to appear before the committee.

Their testimony is now scheduled for the end of February.

It comes as lawmakers continue examining Epstein’s network and the relationships powerful figures maintained with the disgraced financier.

No former president has appeared before Congress since 1983, when President Gerald R. Ford testified regarding the celebration of the Constitution’s bicentennial.

When President Donald Trump was subpoenaed in 2022 by the House select committee investigating January 6, he filed suit to block the subpoena.

The committee later withdrew it.

The upcoming testimony from the Clintons is expected to mark a pivotal moment in the Oversight Committee’s effort to gather sworn, on-the-record answers related to Epstein and the figures connected to him.
