Actor Quinton Aaron is reportedly “fighting for his life” after suffering a serious fall at his home that left him hospitalized with a severe blood infection.
Aaron, 41, who starred opposite Sandra Bullock in the 2009 sports biopic “The Blind Side,” is currently receiving medical treatment following the incident, according to a GoFundMe campaign created to help cover medical bills and family expenses.
In a statement, Aaron’s manager, Katrina Fristoe, said the actor is “receiving excellent medical care” and is surrounded by family.
“The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of support from fans and the media but respectfully requests privacy during this time,” Fristoe said, adding that an update would be shared when Aaron’s condition improves.
The GoFundMe describes Aaron as being “critically ill” and battling a “severe blood infection.”
As of Sunday evening, the fundraiser had raised just over $450 toward its $10,000 goal.
According to TMZ, Aaron has been hospitalized in Atlanta, Georgia, for several days. His manager told the outlet that the actor fell after suddenly losing control of his legs while climbing stairs to his apartment.
While the GoFundMe page states that Aaron is on “life support,” his manager told TMZ that he is “stable” and able to communicate with family and members of his professional team.
Medical professionals note that the term “stable” does not necessarily indicate improvement, only that a patient’s condition is not currently deteriorating.
Doctors are continuing to run tests to determine the cause of the fall, according to his manager.
Aaron’s health crisis follows a separate hospitalization in March 2025, when he was rushed to the hospital after coughing up blood and experiencing a fever.
At the time, doctors reportedly suspected Type A flu and pneumonia.
After receiving antibiotics and IV fluids, Aaron said he was improving.
The actor has faced a series of serious health challenges in recent years.
In 2019, he battled a severe upper respiratory infection.
In 2020, he was hospitalized three times, once for COVID-19 and twice for heart failure.
In 2021, he was diagnosed with diabetes.
In 2023, Aaron revealed to the American Heart Association that he had previously been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, a condition that runs in his family.
Despite those setbacks, Aaron announced in October that he had lost approximately 200 pounds, reducing his weight from 575 pounds in 2012 to 375 pounds.
He said the transformation left him feeling “overwhelmed and blessed.”
At the time, Aaron said seeing his weight had made him realize he was eating himself “into an early grave.”
He set a goal weight of 320 pounds, saying that would put him at “the same weight I was when I was 14 playing football in high school.”
Aaron said he briefly used the weight-loss drug Ozempic in 2024 but discontinued it after suffering an allergic reaction.
He later adopted intermittent fasting and dietary changes, reducing sugar and carbohydrate intake.
The actor, who also appeared in “Left Behind,” credited lifestyle changes and improved health awareness for his progress, which was spurred in part by his diabetes diagnosis.
Family representatives said they are grateful for the public support and will provide updates as Aaron’s condition allows.
