An explosive detail has been discovered in the newly released Jeffrey Epstein documents that has been hailed as a “bombshell” finding that could “solve the mystery” surrounding the child predator.
Former State Department official Mike Benz is sounding the alarm after newly released Department of Justice (DOJ) records revealed that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) appears to hold classified information about Epstein.
In the files are documents showing that the CIA responded to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request tied to Epstein.
During an interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, Benz described the CIA’s 2011 response as a “bombshell” turning point.
He said the discovery should immediately trigger congressional action to force full disclosure of any classified records connected to the disgraced financier.
The DOJ released more than 3 million pages of Epstein-related records in the latest dump, including documentation of the CIA’s reply to a FOIA request submitted on Epstein’s behalf.
“To Me, This Is a Bombshell”
Benz argued the timeline alone raises major questions.
“Jeffrey Epstein was not a public figure at all in 1999,” Benz said.
“He didn’t come into public awareness, public attention, until 2001, 2002 …
“He was a private figure in 1999 when he FOIA’d the Central Intelligence Agency for records.
“… anybody who wants to be a hero right now …
“These are not classified documents.
“FOIA responses are not classified.
“So, anybody right now can FOIA the Central Intelligence Agency for all records and communications related to the CIA’s written communications with Jeffrey Epstein via his lawyer, both in 1999 and 2011.”
He then summarized the agency’s written response.
“What it says is, ‘We have received your request for your client Jeffrey Epstein’s records search under the Freedom of Information Act,'” he said.
“‘We’ve granted the request to search for all open and acknowledged agency affiliations between Jeffrey Epstein and the CIA.
“‘We have run that search.
“‘And the answer is no documents are responsive to the request.'”
But the next paragraph, Benz noted, took a different turn.
“‘And then it says in the next paragraph, ‘With respect to your request that touches on classified documents, we can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of any such documents,'” he continued.
“‘So you can consider this a partial denial of your FOIA request.'”

According to Benz, that language signals something far more significant.
“To me, this is a bombshell and should prompt [Rep.] Ro Khanna [(D-CA)] and [Rep.] Thomas Massie [(R-KY)] and the 427 members of the House of Representatives and 100% of the US Senate to pass the same bill that the United States Congress did in 1992 for the JFK Records Collection Act, when the CIA was forced by law to stand up an independent auditing body to review all classified records relating to the JFK assassination for the first time ever and then declassify them over months and years through the work of that independent board,” he said.
Calls Grow for Immediate Congressional Action
Benz urged lawmakers to replicate the 1992 JFK Records Collection Act.
He is arguing that Congress could compel the release of any CIA files tied to Epstein just as it once forced transparency around President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
“That’s actionable immediately,” he said.
“Who’s going to want to be on the other side of that in Congress?
“… it would solve the mystery.
“All we need is one brave member of Congress to get the ball rolling and stand up that bill.
“And you can just copy-paste the 1992 JFK Records Collection Act and just substitute JFK for Jeffrey Epstein.”

The push follows the recent bipartisan passage of legislation that made unclassified Justice Department Epstein records public—fueling demands to pry open any remaining classified material.
Expanding Fallout From DOJ Document Dump
Friday’s massive document release also exposed Epstein’s communications with high-profile figures, including Britain’s ex-Prince Andrew, Bill Gates, LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, WEF CEO Børge Brende, and multiple European officials.
Meanwhile, after months of resistance, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have finally caved and agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee as its Epstein investigation intensifies.
With new records surfacing and pressure mounting on Congress, the unanswered question surrounding Epstein’s government connections is growing louder, along with demands for the full truth to finally come out.
