Border Patrol Declares ‘Phenomenal’ Victory as Illegal Alien Entries Plunge ‘Down to Zero’

The U.S. Border Patrol has just announced that the monthly number of illegal aliens released into the United States has plunged “down to zero” for the first time in years.

In a dramatic shift from the chaos seen under former President Joe Biden’s border policies, not a single illegal alien was released into the U.S. in May.

According to new Border Patrol data, the figure is a staggering drop from 62,000 migrant releases at the same time last year.

“It’s phenomenal,” U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks told Fox News in an interview Wednesday.

“To go from over 62,000 down to zero — we’re breaking records in the right direction now.”

Banks joined Fox & Friends to share the results of what he calls a historic course correction at the southern border.

“Anybody that cares about national security knows what a big deal this is,” Banks said.

“Under the last administration [Biden], we saw record numbers of illegal crossings and releases.

“But that’s changed — fast.”

He credited the turnaround to a return to law-and-order leadership under President Donald Trump, as well as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Both Trump and Noem have prioritized border enforcement and public safety since returning to power.

“We’ve said all along: The United States Border Patrol knows how to secure the border,” Banks emphasized.

“We just need leadership.

“And now we have it.”

Banks revealed that just two days ago, agents at the southwest border apprehended 141 illegal entrants.

However, not one was released into the interior of the country.

“None of them will be released,” he confirmed.

“That’s the difference leadership makes.”

The latest numbers reflect what many law enforcement officials see as a new era of border enforcement.

Banks stopped short of calling it a total victory, but declared:

“We are closer to operational control of the border than we’ve ever had.”

Under the Biden administration, illegal alien releases reached historic highs, overwhelming cities across the country with little recourse.

Critics of Biden’s border policy pointed to “sanctuary” city surges, rising crime, and unsustainable strains on housing and public services.

But the Trump administration’s renewed crackdown has reversed that trend.

“We’re just getting started,” Banks said.

“We’re not even close to being done.”
