California House Speaker Threatens to Withhold Federal Taxes from Trump Admin

California’s Democrat House Speaker Robert Rivas is threatening to withhold federal taxes from President Donald Trump’s administration if the state’s demands are not met.

In a dramatic showdown between California Democrats and the Trump administration, Rivas is now openly talking about defying federal law.

The radical suggestion of withholding federal tax payments comes in response to reports that the White House may be preparing to slash federal funds for the state’s massive university system.

According to multiple reports, the Trump administration is weighing the elimination of federal grant funding for the University of California and California State University systems.

The potential funding cuts are a response to the state’s blatant defiance of federal law, particularly on transgender athletics.

The move comes after President Trump issued an executive order in February banning biological men from competing in women’s sports.

The policy is rooted in fairness and biological reality.

However, instead of respecting federal authority, California has doubled down on its radical gender ideology, allowing male athletes to continue displacing women on the field.

A White House spokesperson, Kush Desai, emphasized that the administration has made no final decision — yet.

Nevertheless, Desai warned that taxpayers should not be forced to bankroll policies that “fund the demise of our country.”

Rivas responded with a tantrum worthy of a political arsonist, calling the potential cuts “unconstitutional and vindictive.”

He continued by threatening to withhold federal tax payments from the state.

“We’re the nation’s economic engine and the largest donor state,” Rivas ranted on leftist social media platform BlueSky.

“We must look at every option, including withholding federal taxes.”

That’s right — a high-ranking California Democrat is publicly floating the idea of tax evasion, a federal crime.

While innocent January 6 protesters have faced federal prison for trespassing, here’s a sitting lawmaker suggesting outright rebellion against the U.S. Treasury.

If Rivas makes good on his threats, many Americans will expect the Department of Justice to enforce the law with equal vigor.

After all, if everyday citizens would face jail time for failing to pay taxes, elected officials must not be immune.

At the core of the conflict is a deepening ideological war between blue states pushing radical leftist agendas and a Trump administration trying to restore constitutional order and federal authority.

The battle lines are clear: Will California continue to operate like its own sovereign nation, or will federal law — and basic fairness in women’s sports — finally be enforced?

For now, all eyes are on Washington.
