Canadian Government to Euthanize Popular Children’s Author Due to Cognitive Decline

The Canadian government is preparing to euthanize Robert Munsch after the beloved children’s author was diagnosed with dementia.

Munsch will be killed by lethal injection under the government’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program.

The news that Munsch will be euthanized for cognitive decline has put Canada’s reckless eugenics regime back in the spotlight.

Munsch, 80, who entertained generations of children with his whimsical stories, disclosed in a recent interview with The New York Times that he is due to be killed by “assisted suicide” following his dementia diagnosis.

Pro-life leaders are calling the revelation a devastating “wake-up call” for Canada.

In a post on X, Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) wrote:

“The recent news that beloved children’s author, Robert Munsch, is choosing euthanasia because of dementia should wake us up.”

CLC blasted the Liberal government’s euthanasia system as “reckless,” warning that Munsch’s approval shows how dangerously easy it is to qualify.

“The fact that he was actually approved shows just how ridiculous and reckless Canada’s approval process has become,” CLC said.

“What kind of message does that send to seniors, to families, to the vulnerable?”

Jack Fonseca, CLC’s director of political operations, called Munsch’s planned death a “sad and tragic revelation” and a twisted weapon in the government’s effort to normalize euthanasia.

Fonseca warns that the news is yet more evidence of a globalist agenda to “advance the culture of death in Canada and the USA.”

Munsch, who once studied for the Catholic priesthood before moving to Canada in 1975, has sold millions of books worldwide.

His looming death by lethal injection underscores how entrenched euthanasia has become in Canadian society.

Since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government legalized assisted suicide in 2016, Canada has rapidly expanded eligibility.

What began as a program for the “terminally ill” now covers the chronically ill.

Meanwhile, activists are aggressively pushing to extend the scheme to the mentally ill and even minors.

Despite public backlash, the Trudeau government only delayed its mental illness expansion until 2027.

Today, euthanasia is the sixth leading cause of death in Canada—though officials conceal it from Statistics Canada’s top-10 list by recording the underlying illness as the “cause” rather than the lethal injection.

The numbers are staggering.

In 2022 alone, 13,241 Canadians were euthanized by the government.

Over 4% of all deaths nationwide were caused by “assisted suicide.”

The figure marks an alarming 31% increase from the year prior.

For critics, Munsch’s case illustrates the chilling reality as the once-celebrated children’s author, who gave joy to millions, is now being ushered into death under a government program that treats killing as healthcare.

“Choosing assisted death for cognitive decline sends a dangerous message,” CLC warned.
