Chicago Democrat Comes Clean: ‘Dems Believe Coddling Criminals Is How We Get Elected and Stay In Power’

Democrat Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez has come clean and warned the public that the Democratic Party believes that “coddling criminals” will help them get elected.

Lopez, who also running for mayor in Chicago, lifted the lid on the inner workings of his fellow Democrats’ agenda during an appearance on Fox News.

“Well, first and foremost, Democrats, by and large, have espoused this mentality that enabling and coddling criminals is how we get elected, how we stay in power,” Lopez revealed on “America Reports.”

“As a Democrat, I fully reject that notion because that’s not what works.

“We have to know who our real heroes are, and those are the brave men and women that put on that uniform and badge every day to keep our communities safe.

“They are the ones who are keeping our society together at a time when so many politicians and community leaders are making excuses for those individuals who think that they can quite literally act with impunity in cities like Chicago.

“We will bring that to an end.

“And the moment that we start showing consequence for the behaviors you have just shown your viewers, things will change in the city of Chicago, and I believe, throughout this country,” he said.

This is the second Democrat lawmaker from Chicago to come forward and break with the party this week.

As Slay News previously reported, Democrat State Rep. La Shawn K. Ford said earlier:

“Too many babies have been killed.

“Too many fathers have been killed.

“Too many mothers have been killed.

“Too many brothers have been killed.

“And this has to stop.

“And the only way you stop it is you have a system in place that’s going to go after criminals.

“We cannot allow them to continue to run our communities and make our lives less safe.

“So only a few of them we could get them.

“Once we eliminate these criminals off the street, people will live in peace, and we can do it.

“We know where they’re at.”

Ford then placed the blame on Chicago’s Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot, remarking that “she’s failed.”

“The criminals are winning in Chicago,” Ford said.

“I think she’s failed because she’s lost the trust of law enforcement,” he said of Lightfoot.

“She doesn’t have a working relationship with Kim Foxx.

“She doesn’t have a working relationship with Chief Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court Timothy Evans.

“That’s a problem.

“The community sees that, criminals see it, and they know that they can get away with murder.

“My daughter went to pick up her cousins from school.

“She dropped them off,” he said.

“And within moments, a car drives by and shoots up the car and shoots and kills him right here in front of my daughter and his kids.”

Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell lost his brother on the streets of Chicago and he has been pushing for accountability and answers to help make the city safer.

“The Democratic Party of Chicago has protected Kim Foxx,” Caldwell said.

“They’ve protected Lori Lightfoot, so him speaking out against the both of them, him slamming them, is really a danger to his career.

“But his family’s lives have been touched by this.

“So I really respect and applaud him for saying what he said,” he said.
