CNN anchor Erin Burnett has admitted that newly emerging evidence showing the Biden family received payments for shady foreign business deals “doesn’t look good.”
Burnett was responding to the recent revelations showing members of the Biden family received over a million dollars from accounts linked to Hunter Bidenโs Chinese business associates.
The CNN host admitted that the payments certainly donโt โlook goodโ for the embattled Hunter Biden and his family.
The payments emerged during government investigations, led by the House Oversight Committee, into the Biden family’s alleged corruption.
During an episode of CNNโs โErin Burnett OutFront,โ the host brought up subpoenaed financial records obtained by the House Oversight Committee.
The documents show that money from Democrat President Joe Bidenโs son was funneled to several members of his family.
The family members who received payments include the president’s brother James Biden, and Beau Bidenโs widow, Hallie.
The paper trial has also revealed that a mystery “Biden” received huge payments from the shady deals.
Burnett asked her guest โJust Securityโ co-editor-in-chief Ryan Goodman about the revelations and admitted to him that any layperson who sees these payoffs are going to think they donโt โlook good.โ
However, her guest insisted that most likely, nothing โdamaging legallyโ would come from these records, though they may be โpossibly unethical.โ
Burnettโs reporting followed CNNโs recent foray into covering Hunter Bidenโs allegedly corrupt behavior.
As Fox News Digital noted, โCNN finally ran its own report about the questionable ethics surrounding the presidentโ in January.
The networkโs critics blasted the report for coming more than two years after The New York Post first broke the story on Hunter Bidenโs alleged corruption.
The financial records Burnett discussed were first revealed by House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., after acquiring through a subpoena of Bank of America financial records.
Fox News reported Thursday that the records showed how โ’at least three family members’ received lucrative payments from a bank account belonging toโ Robinson Walker, Hunter Bidenโs business partner.
The records revealed that Chinese company State Energy HK Limited wired $3 million to โRobinson Walker, LLC,โ in the months after Joe Biden left the vice presidency.
A House Committee memo explained, โAfter the Robinson Walker, LLC account received $3 million from State Energy HK Limited, Biden family members and their companies began receiving incremental payments over a period of approximately three months.โ
Burnett rounded out the reporting during her show, prefacing her account by stating that the revelation โdoesnโt sound goodโ if youโre a โlaypersonโ hearing it.
โOn a certain level, just as a layperson, you hear this and it doesnโt sound good,” she said.
“Thereโs a guy whose name is John Robinson Walker.
“He gets three million dollars from a Chinese space company and proceeds to wire it out to a bunch of people named Biden, one of whom is Hunter Biden, another one is a company that belongs to the presidentโs brother James Biden, and another amount of money to Beau Bidenโs widow, Hallie.โ
Once more, Burnett stressed to her guest, โSo again, from a layperson, that doesnโt look good.โ
โIs it damaging legally?โ Burnett asked in a follow-up question.
Goodman responded, saying, โNot necessarily damaging legally, like when I look at all of the facts alleged in the four-page memo, it looks potentially unethical.
“But itโs difficult to match it up with any illegality or crime.โ
Elsewhere, Goodman noted it could look like โinfluence-peddlingโ between foreign assets and the Bidens but again noted he didnโt see anything illegal.
