CNN’s pro-Trump billionaire new boss has slammed the network’s star anchor Brian Stelter as a “cancer with a failing show,” according to reports.
NewsCycleMedia’s Jon Nicosia has been getting the inside scoop on the changes coming at CNN after John Malone became the largest shareholder following a huge merger.
Malone, a billionaire Trump donor, is the majority owner of Discovery, the company that owns CNN now.
He has not been shy about saying the network lost its way and went all-in on partisanship during the Trump years.
Since former CNN boss Jeff Zucker left in disgrace, Malone has been saying that he will take the network in a new direction.
Big changes are coming and the most notorious anti-Trump hacks are getting nervous at the network because they know heads will soon roll.
Now it appears Brian Stelter’s days may be numbered at CNN.
According to Jon Nicosia, Malone blasted Stelter during a recent meeting.
“At a recent (informal) Discovery Board meeting (largest shareholder) John Malone referred to CNN’s Brian Stelter as a ‘cancer’ and a ‘Zucker Henchman’ that has ‘a failing show’,” Nicosia reported.

Nicosia reported earlier that Malone is planning “a large realignment of staff.”
Malone donated $250,000 to Trump’s inauguration in 2017.
He said recently: “I would like to see CNN evolve back to the kind of journalism that it started with, and actually have journalists, which would be unique and refreshing.
“I do believe good journalism could have a role in this future portfolio that Discovery-TimeWarner’s going to represent.”
