A local Democrat official in Arizona, who caught on video screaming obscenities at two women during a protest over federal immigration raids, has apologized, resigned his party post, and lost his job.
Mark Holodnak, the former treasurer for the Legislative District 12 Democrats, stepped down after video circulated online showing him shouting vulgar insults at two young women outside a Zipps Sports Grill location.
He was later fired from his position at a Phoenix-based real estate firm after conservative activists identified him and publicized the footage.
The confrontation occurred on January 26 at one of 14 Zipps locations targeted during federal immigration enforcement activity.
Video shows protesters initially watching federal agents before turning on two unidentified women whom the crowd accused of taking selfies with law enforcement officers.
Footage shows Holodnak moving toward the women with a group of protesters, holding up his phone as the women sat on the ground.
He then followed them toward a gated area near the restaurant while shouting profanities.
“You little (expletive expletive),” Holodnak yelled, repeatedly using a profane slur directed at women as they retreated.
Other protesters surrounded the women, raised their phones, and continued berating them until the women entered a secured area connected to the restaurant and closed the gate behind them.

The video was recorded and posted on X by R.C. Maxwell, a conservative writer for RedState.com and an executive committee member-at-large for the Maricopa County Republican Committee.
The reporter has also worked with Project Veritas and serves as a digital adviser and ballot chaser for Turning Point Action, founded by the late Charlie Kirk.
Maxwell said he learned about the protest through social media and went to the Ahwatukee location to document events.
He said he did not observe the women taking selfies.
“I think it’s important for Americans to see the true nature of these protests and the radical networks behind them,” Maxwell told The Arizona Republic.
The footage quickly spread across conservative social media, including accounts such as Libs of TikTok and posts amplified by Alex Jones.
Online users soon identified the man in the video as Holodnak, who at the time served on the executive committee of the Democratic Party organization representing Ahwatukee, west Chandler, and southwest Tempe.
One account that published Holodnak’s name and photograph while urging followers to contact his employer amassed more than 1.2 million views.
Users also identified Holodnak as an employee of HomeSmart, a Phoenix-based real estate company.
The firm later confirmed publicly that he had been terminated.
“The agent has been terminated and is no longer affiliated with HomeSmart,” the company said in a statement.
