Democrat Rep Hank Johnson Labels America ‘The Great Satan’ – ‘World’s Number One Bully’

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) sparked outrage this week after resurfacing one of the most infamous slurs used by Iran’s Islamist regime, labeling the United States “the great Satan.”

During an interview with far-left radio host Dean Obeidallah, Johnson also smeared America as the “world’s number one bully.”

Johnson’s comments mirrored decades of anti-American propaganda from Tehran’s mullahs.

The rhetoric has long been used by terrorist organizations to justify violence against U.S. citizens and allies.

Discussing the U.S. military’s strikes on narco-terrorist boats, Obeidallah said to Johnson:

“We don’t have any penalty in America for someone, even if they were selling drugs, that you would execute them.

“There’s no death penalty that I’m aware of.

“And even if there was, you’re going to have some due process.

“It’s not a situation where you say, ‘I’m not going to show you proof, but just trust me.’

“This person is a drug dealer, and we’re going to just kill them.

“And if they’re survivors, we’re going to kill the survivors of the initial strikes as well. This is not good.”

Johnson agreed with the sentiment and then used anti-American rhetoric to double down.

“We are the world’s number one bully, and we are using our immense, unrivaled power to rule over those who have less power,” Johnson claimed.

He then added: “This sends a shocking message to the world that America is indeed the — what did they used to call it — the great hand of Satan, or something like that.”

Johnson continued his attack by invoking the Iranian regime’s preferred label directly:

“I mean, America under the Trump regime is demonstrating that that moniker is entirely accurate.

“That’s what we’ve become in this country, the great Satan.”

The Georgia Democrat has a history of making bizarre statements.

Johnson infamously went viral in 2010 for suggesting during a congressional hearing that the island of Guam could “tip over and capsize” if the U.S. military stationed too many personnel there.

“My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize,” he said at the time.

Admiral Robert Willard, then commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, paused before responding diplomatically: “We don’t anticipate that.”

Johnson’s latest remarks come as Democrats continue escalating their attacks on President Donald Trump’s foreign policy.

The attack continues even as Trump restores U.S. deterrence abroad and reasserts American strength on the world stage.

Johnson’s rhetoric, echoing America’s most hostile adversaries, underscores a growing divide inside the Democratic Party, where anti-U.S. sentiment has moved from the fringes to mainstream voices in Congress.
