Democrat Congresswoman Under Investigation for ‘Serious Criminal Violations’

Democrat Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) has found herself in serious legal trouble as the Foundation for Accountability and Civil Trust (FACT) has submitted a criminal referral to the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding her actions.

The referral alleges that Cherfilus-McCormick unlawfully retained a staggering $5.8 million overpayment from the state of Florida.

The congresswoman is accused of using the massive overpayment to fund her congressional campaign.

This latest scandal marks yet another in a growing list of prominent Democrats under investigation for suspected criminal activity.

Cherfilus-McCormick, who was elected to the House in 2022, has already been the subject of multiple ethics investigations by the Office of Congressional Ethics and the House Ethics Committee.

The findings from these investigations were troubling, with the committee accusing her of accepting campaign contributions linked to official actions, taking illegal in-kind contributions, and even dispensing special favors to friends.

She was also accused of misrepresenting the source of campaign donations and requesting that taxpayer-funded community project funding be directed to for-profit entities.

According to FACT, these actions represent “serious criminal violations.”

At the heart of the investigation is the alleged fraudulent behavior surrounding Cherfilus-McCormick’s former healthcare company, Trinity Health Care Services.

The company, which she led before taking office in Congress, was hired by the state in 2021 to assist with Covid “vaccine” registrations.

However, the company allegedly submitted a grossly inflated invoice that was more than 100 times the normal amount.

The issue resulted in the state of Florida issuing a payment of $5,057,850 instead of the intended $50,578.50.

As per the FACT report, the money was never returned to the state.

In addition, Cherfilus-McCormick’s personal income allegedly spiked by more than $6 million around the same time the overpayment occurred.

The implication is clear: Cherfilus-McCormick may have pocketed the funds for her own political benefit, using state resources to bolster her campaign coffers.

Trinity Health Care Services has since agreed to repay the state $5.6 million over the next 15 years.

However, the damage to Cherfilus-McCormick’s reputation is done.

The timeline, dollar amounts, and the facts laid out in the report suggest the possibility of serious criminal conduct, and the DOJ referral now raises the stakes.

Cherfilus-McCormick isn’t the first Democrat to find herself under investigation for alleged criminal activity.

Already, New York’s Democrat Attorney General Letitia James and California Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) are facing investigations for suspected mortgage fraud.

The FBI is also investigating several high-ranking Obama-era officials, including former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan, for potential criminal actions related to a conspiracy against President Trump.

The list doesn’t end there.

Other Democrats have been accused of illegal actions or remain under investigation.

New York City Comptroller Brad Lander stands accused of impeding law enforcement officers.

California Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) was forcibly removed from a press conference by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in June after charging the stage and leaving agents uncertain of his identity.

Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was charged with interfering with ICE agents during a visit to a detention center in Newark.

In Wisconsin, leftist Judge Hannah Dugan was indicted by a federal grand jury for concealing an illegal alien from law enforcement officers.

Even Newark Mayor Ras Baraka found himself arrested during a visit to the same detention center as McIver, though no charges were ultimately filed against him.

A staffer for Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) was briefly detained by DHS agents searching his office in May for protesters.

The pattern is undeniable as more and more Democrats are facing serious legal challenges, from fraud to obstruction of justice.

As Cherfilus-McCormick’s case unfolds, it adds to a growing list of troubling allegations against members of the Democratic Party.

For conservatives and Trump supporters, these scandals are not just a political fight; they are a direct assault on the integrity of the U.S. government.

The American people deserve accountability, transparency, and a government free from corruption.

The continuing stream of investigations into prominent Democrats should serve as a reminder that the swamp is alive and well, and the fight to drain it is far from over.

Cherfilus-McCormick’s alleged fraud is just one more example of how the Democratic Party has failed to live up to the values it claims to uphold.

With investigations mounting, it’s clear that more Democrats are facing serious consequences for their actions.

Will they finally be held accountable? Only time will tell.
