Democrat Sen Fetterman Congratulates Trump on ‘Historic Peace Plan’ to End War in Gaza

Democrat Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has publicly congratulated President Donald Trump on securing a historic peace plan between Israel and Hamas.

The senator made the remarks after the president announced the first phase of the peace deal on Wednesday.

Fetterman is one of the few members of his party who has consistently backed Israel.

In a post on X, Fetterman  wrote:

“I congratulate @POTUS on this historic peace plan that releases all the hostages.

“Now, enduring peace in the region is possible.

“Our parties are different, but we have a shared ironclad commitment to Israel and its people.”

The praise came just moments after Trump took to Truth Social to announce that both Israel and Hamas had signed onto phase one of his administration’s peace plan.

“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan,” Trump wrote.

“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.

“All Parties will be treated fairly!” Trump noted.

“This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen.

“BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!”

The breakthrough follows two years of bloodshed in the wake of Hamas’s October 7, 2023, terror attack.

During the attack, Hamas terrorists poured across the border, murdering, raping, and kidnapping civilians in the deadliest assault on Israel in decades.

Trump’s peace initiative has already been hailed as one of the most significant diplomatic achievements in the Middle East since the Abraham Accords.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the president deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for brokering the deal.

But Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) argued that even that honor would be insufficient if Trump manages to secure lasting peace.

“The Nobel Peace Prize isn’t enough,” Fine said.

“If every living hostage is returned and lasting peace in the Middle East is secured, we should repeal the 22nd Amendment and thank the Lord for every day @realdonaldtrump can be our President.

“There will never be another one like him.”

The announcement cements Trump’s position as a uniquely effective dealmaker on the world stage.

Unlike previous administrations that failed to move the needle in the Israeli-Hamas conflict, Trump has now delivered a tangible breakthrough that has both parties at the table, hostages on the verge of release, and bipartisan acknowledgment of the deal’s historic significance.
