DHS Sounds Alarm as Death Threats Against ICE Agents Surge 8,000%: ‘Unprecedented Violence’

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers are facing an “unprecedented” wave of death threats and violent attacks as they enforce President Donald Trump’s intensified crackdown on illegal immigration.

New data released Wednesday by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shows a staggering 8,000% increase in death threats against ICE officers over the past year.

Officials describe the surge as “unprecedented.”

Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the rise in threats reflects the dangers officers face daily while carrying out removals of violent offenders and cartel-linked criminals.

“From bounties placed on their heads for their murders, threats to their families, stalking, and doxxing online, our officers are experiencing an unprecedented level of violence,” McLaughlin said.

“Our officers risk their lives every single day to remove the worst of the worst.”

“This Violence Against Law Enforcement Must End”

McLaughlin said the growing hostility toward federal immigration officers has been fueled by “sanctuary politicians” and activists who routinely demonize ICE.

“Sanctuary politicians have contributed to this surge through their repeated vilification and demonization tactics, including gross comparisons to the Nazi Gestapo,” she said.

“This violence against law enforcement must end.”

DHS officials cited several recent incidents involving direct threats and attempts to incite violence against ICE personnel and their families, some of which allegedly included bounties for murder.

Arrests and Threats

In one case, Eduardo Aguilar, a Mexican national living in the U.S. illegally in Dallas, Texas, was arrested earlier this month after allegedly offering money online for the killing of ICE agents.

The post, written in Spanish and shared on TikTok, allegedly offered $10,000 “for the murder of an ICE agent” and called for “10 dudes in Dallas with determination who aren’t afraid to [two skull emojis],” according to DHS.

In another Texas case, an ICE officer’s spouse received a chilling phone threat:

“I don’t know how you let your husband work for ICE, and you sleep at night.

“F— you, f— your family. I hope your kids get deported by accident.

“How do you sleep? F— you.

“Did you hear what happened to the Nazis after World War II?

“Because it’s what’s going to happen to your family.”

Another voicemail left on an ICE employee’s phone this month said:

“I hope every one of those lawless c—- you call ICE officers gets doxxed one by one.”

“Nazis” and “Gestapo” Smears

The threats have also spread online, where activists and far-left agitators have accused ICE agents of being “Nazis” and “the Gestapo.”

Fox News reported Tuesday that James Adrian Warren, a man in Ferndale, Washington, allegedly threatened local ICE employees, calling them “Nazis” and pledging to “make life harder for ICE here in Whatcom County.”

In a Facebook post, Warren allegedly wrote:

“They need to be told they are Nazis every day they come to work, they need to be reminded that they are Nazis every day when they go home.

“I start on my next day off, you should too.”

DHS: “We Will Not Be Intimidated”

The Department of Homeland Security said the threats will not deter the agency’s mission or the Trump administration’s enforcement agenda.

“ICE and our federal law enforcement partners will continue to enforce the law,” DHS said, citing Secretary Kristi Noem.

“And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

“ICE will not be stopped or slowed down by the threats.”

McLaughlin added that the department is taking “every threat seriously” and working with federal and local partners to ensure agents and their families are protected.

The surge in hostility marks a disturbing escalation in political violence against law enforcement, one that, officials warn, threatens not just officers but the rule of law itself.
