Horror novelist Stephen King is facing sharp backlash after publishing a social media post claiming that President Donald Trump “has never had a child.”
King made the claim in a post attacking the president’s personal life.
He made the controversial remarks in a Monday post on X.
“Trump: has never had a child,” Kind wrote.
“Has been married 3 times.
“Ran several businesses into the ground.
“Never ran a home, couldn’t make a bed to save his a–.
“Calls people he works with dumb, losers, ect.
“Has never done sweat labor.
“Has never served on a local committee.”
“[He] has no life experience,” King added.
Trump:
Has never had a child.
Has been married 3 times
Ran several businesses into the ground
Never ran a home, couldn’t make a bed to save his ass
calls people he works with dumb, losers, etc.
Has never done sweat labor
Has never served on a local committee
Has no life…— Stephen King (@StephenKing) February 23, 2026
The post immediately drew criticism, particularly because President Trump is the father of five children.
Trump Allies Respond
The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., responded directly on X.
“Well, this is news to me… unless he means birthed a child which would also hold true for every male ever.
“TDS is real and it’s scary.”

The account Libs of TikTok also pushed back:
“Trump literally has 5 kids. What is this sh–?”
1776 Project PAC founder Ryan Girdusky added:
“Um… I’m pretty sure Donald Trump had children.”
Conservative writer Bonchie weighed in:
“Is there a 25th Amendment for taking peoples’ phones away?”
And conservative reporter Jerry Dunleavy joked:
“Donald Trump, famously childless.”
The backlash centered on the easily verifiable fact that President Trump has five children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany, and Barron.
Timing Ahead of State of the Union
King’s comments came as President Trump prepares to address the nation Tuesday evening in the 2026 State of the Union, the annual report to Congress outlining the administration’s work during his second term.
The author’s remarks also mirrored a separate social media post targeting Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
An account called “Stacy is Right,” which describes itself as a MAGA mother of three, posted criticism of Ocasio-Cortez’s background, including claims about her personal life and professional experience.
“[She] has no real life experience. Is a typical deadbeat socialist.”
AOC…
Has never had a child.
Has never been married.
Has never ran a business.
Has never run a home.
Has never managed people.
Has never held a professional job.
Has never served on a local committee.
Has no real life experience.

King reshared that post before publishing his own version aimed at President Trump.
Former Department of Energy nuclear scientist Matt Van Swol accused King of copying the format of the earlier post and misapplying it to the president.
“You literally plagiarized an entire post…which was about AOC… and then applied it to Trump…… for whom it isn’t true and doesn’t make any sense.
“Why are you plagiarizing? I thought you were a writer?”
Someone’s retarded grandmother plagiarized my post. pic.twitter.com/1vvldGdnm5

Pattern of Anti-Trump Rhetoric
Monday’s episode is not the first time King has used social media to attack President Trump.
In February 2025, King posted:
“Just wanted to say that Trump is a traitorous, Putin-loving dipsh–!
“Goes double for Elon!”
Earlier this year, he compared Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to Nazi Germany’s secret police.
“ICE is the American Gestapo.”
In April, King also wrote:
“Trump is ruining the economy with his stupid tariffs.”
The controversy highlights the increasingly heated tone of online political discourse as President Trump continues his second term in office.
