Donald Trump Jr. encouraged supporters of his father to vote in the coming Wisconsin Supreme Court special election.
Voting in the judicial race could help to solidify President Donald Trump’s agenda.
Trump Jr. appeared at the Turning Point USA event with Charlie Kirk to help get out the vote for Judge Brad Schimel.
The Waukesha County judge and former Republican state attorney general is running in the bellwether race for the next set of elections.
Technically, the race is non-partisan.
However, Republicans are backing Schimel over Dane County Judge Susan Crawford.
Crawford is backed by Democrats.
“They can’t just show up when he happens to be on the top of that ticket,” Trump Jr. said of his father.
“You have to engage because it’s not just about now, it’s about that future.
“This presidency can be put to a halt with this vote.”
As a way to stop Democrats from blocking Trump’s agenda, Don Jr. said, “It’s everything.”
The winner on April 1 will determine the majority of the court.
The race is seen as an indication of how swing voters feel about Trump post-election.
The outcome could show how the 2026 midterms may be likely to go.
However, it’s still pretty early to be deterministic about that yet.
The state supreme court is facing cases on abortion rights, congressional district boundaries, unions, and voting rules.
Schimel strongly supports President Trump.
He attended the president’s inauguration in January.
Schimel also spoke at the rally to urge voters to turn out for him.
“Do you think the job is done?” Schimel said.
“We have to stay vigilant.
“We have to stay on this,” he urged.
Trump has not endorsed a candidate in the race.
Nevertheless, supporters hope he might before the votes are cast.
26-year-old Trump voter Soslan Temanson of Westfield said:
“I can’t overemphasize the importance of this election.
“I think it’s important Trump went all-in on Wisconsin.”
The last Supreme Court election saw the liberal candidate win by double digits.
The outcome has led X boss Elon Musk and others to spend a lot of money to avoid another loss.
