Associate Deputy Attorney General Ed Martin has revealed that former FBI Director James Comey will likely be jailed after he made an assassination threat against President Donald Trump.
As Slay News reported, Comey provoked outrage after he made a call for Trump’s assassination.
Comey posted an Instagram photo of seashells arranged to show the numbers “86 47.”
“Cool shell formation on my beach walk…,” Comey captioned the post Thursday.
“86” is frequently used as a call sign for murdering or getting rid of someone.
“47,” meanwhile, has been interpreted as denoting the 47th president of the United States.
Comey later deleted the post after online backlash from government officials, lawmakers, and the president’s son.
In a follow-up post, Comey claimed not to know what the numbers meant.
However, this claim was widely mocked.
The White House responded by accusing Comey of placing a “hit” on Trump.
Comey is currently being investigated by the U.S. Secret Service over the post.
During an interview with Benny Johnson, Martin explained that Comey has created a situation that can only end with him “going to jail.”
“He knew… He’s got a problem,” Martin said Friday.
“Perjury traps are next.
“Going to jail on one or the other.”

Comey is accused of lying in his follow-up post.
Comey implied he did not assemble the shell formation.
Instead, he claims that he just happened to stumble across the assassination message while he was on his beach walk, but “didn’t realize” what it meant.
“I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message,” Comey said on Instagram.
“I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence.
“It never occurred to me, but I oppose violence of any kind, so I took the post down.”
