Email Proves Whistleblower Warned King Charles About Ex-Prince Andrew’s Corrupt Secret Dealings in 2019

King Charles was warned over six years ago that disgraced former Prince Andrew’s secret financial entanglements were damaging the Royal Family, according to a whistleblower email.

The email has now surfaced amid an escalating scandal that has already seen the former Duke of York arrested and released under investigation.

According to the Daily Mail, an August 2019 email was sent to Charles, then Prince of Wales, through the royal law firm Farrer & Co.

The warning centered on Andrew’s long-running relationship with controversial financier David Rowland and alleged that the association had “abused the Royal Family’s name.”

The former prince, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

He was released under investigation 11 hours later.

He has not been formally charged.

The offense carries a potential maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

The renewed focus now turns to a central question of what the Palace did with the warning in 2019.

The 2019 Email

As reported, the whistleblower’s message to Charles was direct.

“HRH the Duke of York’s actions suggest that his Royal Highness considers his relationship with David Rowland more important than that of his family.”

A second email, sent to David Rowland and copied to Charles’s private secretary Clive Alderton and the late Queen’s solicitor Mark Bridges at Farrer & Co., stated:

“The evidence provided unequivocally proves that you have abused the Royal Family’s name.”

The whistleblower further alleged that Rowland “paid HRH The Duke of York to procure a Luxembourg Banking Licence” for his private bank, Banque Havilland.

The European Central Bank withdrew the bank’s license in 2024.

The decision is reportedly under appeal.

By 2019, Andrew was already facing intense scrutiny over his association with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

At the time, the scrutiny was focused on the widely circulated photograph of Andrew with Epstein’s 17-year-old victim, Virginia Giuffre, who accused the former prince of raping her on three separate occasions.

Despite that context, the whistleblower claims suggest deeper financial ties were flagged internally years before the current police action.

The Rowland Relationship

Financial connections between Andrew and the Rowland family reportedly stretch back decades.

According to emails reviewed by the Mail:

   • Andrew invited Jonathan Rowland, David’s son, to attend meetings connected to his official role as UK trade envoy.

   • Andrew allegedly shared elements of his trade envoy schedule with David Rowland.

   • Rowland reportedly paid off a £1.5 million loan for Andrew in 2017.

   • Rowland gave Andrew’s former wife, Sarah Ferguson, £40,000 to assist with debts.

   • Andrew allegedly described Rowland to Epstein as his “trusted money man.”

Jonathan Rowland has denied wrongdoing, stating that emails referenced in reports were “stolen” and that the suggestion a banking license could be “procured” was “idiotic.”

He also said he had “no recollection” of other matters raised.

Political Fallout

The revelations have prompted calls for a full investigation across party lines.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said:

“These explosive new MoS findings are shocking, but not surprising.

“The police should investigate them at once.

“Andrew has acted disgracefully and deserves nothing less than to face justice over his deals, something which has been denied to Epstein’s victims for too long.

“No one is above the law.”

Shadow Foreign Secretary Priti Patel said that “each day new revelations appear and they are all horrific” and called for urgent police scrutiny.

Reform UK Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick stated:

“The police must investigate the latest revelation urgently.

“No stone must be left unturned to establish the truth.

“Andrew has done his best to wreck Britain’s reputation on the world stage through his association with Epstein.”

Defense Minister Luke Pollard said stripping Andrew from the line of succession would be “the right thing to do.” Andrew remains eighth in line to the throne.

Police Review Expands

The Metropolitan Police has reportedly begun contacting former and serving officers who may have worked with Andrew in protection roles.

Officers have been asked to consider whether anything they witnessed may assist ongoing reviews:

“They have been asked to consider carefully whether anything they saw or heard during that period of service may be relevant to our ongoing reviews and to share any information that could assist us.”

Authorities have not confirmed how many officers were contacted.

Reports also indicate that warnings about Andrew’s associations may have been raised by British diplomats decades earlier.

Palace Response

Buckingham Palace declined substantive comment, citing the ongoing police investigation.

A Palace source said that, given the investigation, it would not be possible to comment on the whistleblower’s email and added that any relevant material should be shared with authorities.

Gloria Allred, who has represented multiple Epstein victims, called for broader cooperation from the Royal Family.

“King Charles and all the members of the Royal Family have said that they support the victims,” Allred said.

“The best way is for them to also do interviews with the police if they are requested to do so.

“Or they could volunteer to do so.

“I would respectfully request that they speak out about what Andrew may have ever told them about his role with Jeffrey Epstein.”

Broader Questions

The resurfaced emails raise renewed scrutiny over institutional oversight and accountability.

By 2019, Andrew’s association with Epstein had already triggered significant public backlash.

The whistleblower’s warning suggests concerns about financial conduct were also formally raised at that time.

With Andrew now under investigation, attention has shifted from personal misconduct to whether prior warnings were acted upon and whether any financial arrangements intersected with official royal duties.

As the police review continues, the scope of what was known, when it was known, and how it was handled may determine whether this episode remains a personal scandal or expands into a broader institutional reckoning.
