Fetterman Slams Democrats Complaining About Deaths of Iran’s ‘Evil’ Leaders

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has once again broken ranks with members of his own party, blasting Democrats who have opposed President Donald Trump’s military strikes on Iran.

During an interview on Fox News’s “Hannity,” Fetterman called the operation a major step toward regional stability.

However, Fetterman slammed the Democrats who are refusing to support the operation, or even condemning the efforts to eliminate the brutal regime.

“Every single member of the Senate has agreed that we can never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear bomb, and clearly they [Iran] were actually intending to do that,” Fetterman said.

“So, are you really committed to that?”

U.S. and Israeli forces launched coordinated strikes on Feb. 28 targeting Iranian military and government infrastructure in Operation Epic Fury.

According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), more than 1,000 military, intelligence, and regime sites were struck within the first 24 hours.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of senior regime officials were killed during the operation.

‘A Good Thing for the Region’

Fetterman said he was “baffled” that more lawmakers were not openly acknowledging the significance of the operation.

“It’s a good thing for the region, it’s a good thing for Israel, it’s good for America, and so, for me, that’s why I stand with the country over perhaps what the base may demand,” Fetterman said.

He described Khamenei as “one of the most evil men ever.”

The senator noted that the weakening of the Iranian regime represents a positive development for global security.

Fetterman emphasized that diplomatic efforts and sanctions had failed to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

He argues that social media posts and rhetoric alone would not produce peace.

War Powers Debate Emerges

While Fetterman voiced support, some Democrats, along with a handful of Republicans, have called for a vote to restrict the president’s war powers.

They are arguing that the Constitution requires congressional authorization to declare war.

Fetterman has said he would vote against such a resolution.

“Why can’t we all just say the world is better now after this operation?” Fetterman said.

“So I’m proud to stand with the military.

“I’m proud to stand with the Iranian people now that they have the opportunity to have real peace.”

His comments mark one of the most prominent breaks within the Democratic Party over President Trump’s handling of Iran, as the administration continues to argue that decisive action was necessary to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

For now, the Pennsylvania senator appears firmly aligned with the president on the central issue.

Iran cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear bomb, and stopping it requires action.
