Florida Sounds Alarm Over Plot to Spread Deadly Meat Allergy Among Public to ‘Fight Climate Change’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is raising the alarm after uncovering a chilling globalist plot to spread a fatal meat allergy among the general public to supposedly “fight climate change.”

DeSantis has denounced what he calls a “deranged” global agenda to genetically engineer people to develop a red meat allergy.

The Republican governor linked the plan to the World Economic Forum (WEF) and United Nations (UN), both of which are pushing to eliminate traditional diets and control the food supply in the name of “saving the planet.”

DeSantis’s comments came after resurfaced footage showed a New York University bioethicist proposing that humans could be intentionally engineered to become allergic to meat to reduce consumption and fight climate change.

“Genetically engineering humans to become allergic to meat because some elites think people eat ‘too much’ of it is insane,” DeSantis posted on X.

“Human Engineering” to End Meat Consumption

In the 2016 video, Dr. Matthew Liao, director of the NYU Center for Bioethics, told a live audience that ticks could be used to induce an allergy to red meat.

This same idea is echoed by other global bioethicists.

“People eat too much meat,” Liao said.

“And if they were to cut down on their consumption of meat, then it would actually really help the planet.”

“There’s this thing called the lone star tick, where if it bites you, you will become allergic to meat.

“So, that’s something we can do through human engineering.”

DeSantis blasted the comments as a warning sign of how far unelected global bodies and academic elites are willing to go in pursuit of climate ideology.

“This is an example of why entities like the WEF and WHO are persona non grata in Florida,” he wrote.

Globalist Push to Control Diets

In that talk, Liao said: “Just as some people are naturally intolerant to milk or crayfish, like myself, we could artificially induce mild intolerance to meat by stimulating our immune system against common bovine proteins.”

Sayer Ji, chairman of the Global Wellness Forum and founder of GreenMedInfo, said DeSantis is right to call out the underlying agenda.

“This isn’t dietary advice — it’s social engineering,” Ji said.

“Unelected global organizations have no business dictating what free people eat, especially when they’re demonizing traditional foods that have sustained human health for millennia.”

Scientists Float “Moral Obligation” to Spread Meat Allergy

Adding to the controversy, a recent paper published in the journal Bioethics proposed using the lone star tick to spread alpha-gal syndrome (AGS).

AGS is a condition that triggers a severe red meat allergy.

The authors, Dr. Parker Crutchfield and Dr. Blake Hereth of Western Michigan University, argued that if eating meat is “morally impermissible,” then preventing the spread of AGS would also be morally wrong.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), bites from the lone star tick inject a sugar molecule called alpha-gal into the bloodstream, leading to an allergic reaction to red meat that can cause life-threatening anaphylaxis.

Critics say even framing the idea as a “thought experiment” shows how radical modern bioethics has become.

“Calling it a ‘thought experiment’ doesn’t make it any less disturbing,” said Kendall Mackintosh, a board-certified nutrition specialist.

“The suggestion of using ticks or any biological vector to intentionally spread an allergy is beyond unethical. It’s dangerous, unpredictable, and medically reckless.”

Ji warned that the concept goes far beyond diet.

“This is about whether human beings retain sovereignty over their own bodies, or whether that sovereignty can be overridden by those who believe they know better,” he said.

“The answer to that question will determine whether we remain free.”

DeSantis Pushes Back Against “Lab-Grown Meat” Agenda

DeSantis has repeatedly pushed back against efforts to replace natural meat with synthetic or insect-based alternatives promoted by the WEF.

Last year, he signed a law banning lab-grown meat in Florida, describing it as a stand against “the global elite’s plan to force the world to eat meat grown in a petri dish or bugs to achieve their authoritarian goals.”

“Florida is fighting back,” he said at the time.

Mackintosh said the push for “alternative” meats is driven by corporate profit, not sustainability.

“The biggest winners in the lab-grown meat push are large food conglomerates, biotech companies, and venture capital investors who own the patents and production technology,” she explained.

“Small farmers and ranchers — the backbone of our food system — lose.

“This is about creating dependence, not sustainability.”

Ji agreed, saying, “Follow the money.

“Biotech corporations and their investors stand to profit massively from patents and market control.”

WEF’s “One Burger Per Week” Vision

The World Economic Forum has repeatedly called for slashing red meat consumption, promoting “alternative proteins” as the path to a sustainable planet.

In a 2019 video, the WEF suggested that in the future, individuals would be limited to “one beef burger, two portions of fish, and one or two eggs per week.”

A WEF white paper published the same year called for “a transformation in the global system for protein provision,” and subsequent articles touted lab-grown meat as a climate solution that “eliminates the need to farm animals for food.”

Meanwhile, Bill Gates, a major WEF partner, has invested heavily in “alternative protein” ventures like Beyond Meat.

In his 2021 book “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster,” Gates argued that wealthy nations should switch entirely to synthetic “beef.”

But as sales collapse and consumers reject fake meat, critics say the agenda is failing.

“The War on Meat Is About Control”

Ji said the deeper agenda behind “meat-free” campaigns has little to do with the environment.

“The war on meat has never been about climate,” he said.

“It’s about control — consolidating food production under centralized, patented, technology-dependent systems.

“Meat represents everything the global technocracy fears: decentralized production, nutritional independence, and cultural traditions that resist standardization.

“When people can raise their own food, they’re harder to control.”

As DeSantis put it bluntly:

“The notion that cattle are destroying the planet has always been ridiculous.”

For many Americans, the governor’s message resonates as more evidence emerges that the same institutions pushing lab-grown foods are also entertaining ideas of engineering humanity itself, one “ethics” paper at a time.
