Formal Complaint Filed with Michigan Bar over Democrat Rep Tlaib’s Anti-Semitism, False Claims about Israel

Radical Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) is facing disbarment after a formal complaint against the congresswoman was filed with the State Bar of Michigan.

Tlaib has made no secret of her deep disdain for Israel and its Jewish inhabitants.

She has repeatedly made anti-Semitic statements, been vocally supportive of Hamas terrorists, and used her influence to spread false claims about Israel and promote pro-Hamas propaganda.

The far-left Democrat “Squad” member may now face consequences for her multiple public displays of anti-Semitism since the Gaza-based Hamas terrorist group mercilessly attacked, slaughtered, and kidnapped hundreds of mostly civilian Israelis on October 7.

A formal complaint has been filed with the State Bar of Michigan that seeks an investigation of Tlaib, an actively licensed attorney in the state, in regard to her conduct with respect to Israel, according to Just the News.

The complaint, filed by the conservative Coolidge-Reagan Foundation, follows and tracks close on the heels of the congresswoman being formally censured by a bipartisan majority of her colleagues in the House earlier this month.

The Foundation’s complaint states:

“This request arises from Attorney Tlaib’s false, discriminatory, and anti-Semitic comments regarding the horrific massacre and other crimes the international terrorist group Hamas ruthlessly unleashed against innocent Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023, including kidnapping, rape, beheading children, burning people alive, and murdering a baby by placing him in an oven.

“In response to these atrocities, Attorney Tlaib made several public statements evincing deeply discriminatory, antisemitic views that call into question her character and fitness to practice law.

“Attorney Tlaib’s irresponsible anti-Semitic lies and discriminatory statements — which include embracing a call for the violent destruction of Israel and concomitant genocide of Israelis, as well as reckless false accusations of genocide against President Joe Biden and the government of Israel — violate the Michigan Court Rules and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct,” the complaint added.

“The State Bar of Michigan should initiate an investigation and impose appropriate sanctions against an attorney who spreads anti-Semitic propaganda and lies in support of an officially designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.”

As referenced by the complaint, Axios reported that Tlaib was formally censured by her fellow members of Congress on Nov. 7 in a 234-188 vote — a majority that included 22 of Tlaib’s fellow Democrats.

That resolution of admonishment cited Tlaib’s repeated promotion of “false narratives” about Israel and its actions against Palestinians, her apparent justification of Hamas’ murderous attacks as acts of “resistance,” her false accusations of genocide and war crimes against Israel and the United States.

It also cites her repeated use of the well-known anti-Semitic phrase “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which calls for the complete destruction of the nation of Israel and its Jewish inhabitants.

The complaint expanded upon and provided documented evidence of all of that, including Tlaib’s initial response to the October 7 Hamas attacks that she defended as justifiable “acts of resistance” against Israel’s purported “apartheid system” of government, as well as her continued promotion of false accusations of Israel’s responsibility for an explosion near a Gaza hospital that was swiftly revealed to have actually been caused by a misfired Palestinian rocket that fell short of its Israeli target.

The filing also highlighted the congresswoman’s multiple false accusations that Israel — with the full support and backing of Democrat President Joe Biden and the U.S. government — was “deliberately and indiscriminately slaughtering” and engaged in a “massacre of civilians” as part of a broader effort to wage “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing” against the Palestinian people.

The Coolidge-Reagan Foundation complaint asserted that the documented actions and statements of Rep. Tlaib likely violated Michigan Court Rules and the Bar’s standards of professional conduct.

“Michigan-licensed attorneys — particularly those with large national and even global platforms — cannot recklessly lie about foreign bombings, accuse foreign nations of engaging in ethnic cleansing, or declare the President of the United States, foreign leaders, or Members of Congress are supporting genocide or other war crimes,” the complaint stated in conclusion.

“Nor can they be permitted to use antisemitic slogans from Foreign Terrorist Organizations that call for the literal genocide of Israelis and the destruction of Israel,” it continued.

“Such conduct is wholly unprofessional and reflects horribly on the Michigan legal community of which Attorney Tlaib is a part.

“Attorney Tlaib’s public statements have shown a complete disregard for the truth and serve only to enflame anti-Semitic hatred rather than promote the ends of justice.”

“For these reasons, the Coolidge-Reagan Foundation respectfully requests you open an investigation into Attorney Tlaib and pursue appropriate sanctions against her for her repeated false statements, anti-Semitic comments, and spread of foreign terrorist propaganda,” the complaint added.
