Gov Sanders Signs Executive Order to Remove ‘Woke’ Term ‘Latinx’ from Arkansas Documents

Republican Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has signed an executive order to remove the “woke” term “Latinx” from all official Arkansas state documents.

The move was among multiple executive orders signed by Gov. Sanders after she was sworn into office on Tuesday.

The order calls for state entities to review documents for occurrences of “Latinx,” “latinx,” “Latinxs,” and “latinxs.”

Any occurrences of those terms must be then replaced with variations of “Hispanic,” “Latino,” or “Latina.”

“One can no more easily remove gender from Spanish and other romance languages than one can remove vowels and verbs from English,” the order says.

“It is the policy of the Governor’s administration to prohibit the use of culturally insensitive words for official state government business.”

The term is often used by “woke” white liberals to describe Latinos.

However, most Latinos don’t use the term themselves and many find it offensive.

In Spanish, words ending in “O” are masculine and those ending in “A” are feminine.

When referring to a mixed-gender group, the plural word ends in the masculine “O.”

So-called “progressives” substitute the letter “O” for “X” to make it “gender-neutral” because it avoids preferencing men.

Many Latinos see the “X” as odd and off-putting because it doesn’t follow the traditional structure of Spanish.

It makes it awkward and difficult to pronounce because few words end with two consonants in Spanish.

In fact, recent national surveys of Hispanics/Latinos show that the term Latinx is highly unpopular.

A survey of 800 registered voters of Latin American descent showed that only 2 percent described themselves as Latinx.

The poll also showed that 68 percent prefer Hispanic and 21 percent favor Latino.

A whopping 40 percent found the word Latinx “offensive.”

Sanders, who served as White House press secretary during a portion of Donald Trump’s presidential tenure, was backed by the former president during her 2022 gubernatorial bid.

She has now made history by becoming the first woman ever to serve as Arkansas governor.

Her father, Mike Huckabee, previously served as the state’s governor from mid-1996 until early 2007.

“CONGRATULATIONS to Sarah Huckabee Sanders on being sworn in today as the first female Governor of the GREAT STATE of ARKANSAS,” Trump wrote in a Tuesday Truth Social post.

“She is a fantastic person and will be a truly incredible Governor.”

Last year, Sanders revealed that she had undergone successful surgery for thyroid cancer.

“During a check-up earlier this month, my doctor ordered a biopsy on an area of concern in my neck and the test revealed that I had thyroid cancer,” Sanders said in a September 2022 statement.

“Today, I underwent a successful surgery to remove my thyroid and surrounding lymph nodes and by the grace of God I am now cancer-free.”
