Greta Thunberg Provokes Outrage by Falsely Claiming Image of Starving Israeli Hostage Shows ‘Suffering of Palestinian Prisoners’

Far-left activist Greta Thunberg is once again under fire, this time for posting a Hamas propaganda image of an emaciated Israeli hostage to highlight alleged “Palestinian” suffering.

On Instagram, Thunberg shared a collaboration post with several pro-Hamas activists, including Yasmin Acar of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition.

The social media post read:

“The suffering of Palestinian prisoners is not a matter of opinion — it is a fact of systemic cruelty and dehumanization.

“Humanity cannot be selective.

“Justice cannot have borders.”

Alongside that message, Thunberg and her collaborators included three images.

One of the images showed 23-year-old Israeli hostage Evyatar David.

David was kidnapped from the Nova music festival during Hamas’s October 7, 2023, terror attack.

The still image was taken from a Hamas propaganda video.

It shows David visibly frail as he described starvation in captivity.

In one harrowing clip, David’s captors even forced him to dig his own grave.

Evyatar’s sister, Yeela David, publicly blasted Thunberg for her post.

“Every minute you are not deleting the post, you are becoming a bigger joke. Embarrassing,” she wrote.

She continued by urging Thunberg to do basic research before promoting “things you don’t understand.”

The post appears to have since been edited to remove David’s image, but the backlash has not faded.

Comment sections remain filled with reminders that his photo was initially included.

Users are calling the post “lies” and “propaganda.”

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded sharply, posting a screenshot of Thunberg’s deleted slide side-by-side with the original Hamas video still.

“Ignorance blinded by hate is trending,” the ministry declared.

A Pattern of Radical Activism

This is not the first time Greta Thunberg has aligned herself with anti-Israel activists since the Gaza conflict began.

She has participated in two “aid flotillas” bound for Gaza, both intercepted by Israeli forces.

In one of those stunts, Thunberg claimed she had been “kidnapped” by Israel.

However, Israel rejected the claim outright as participants were lawfully detained and later deported.

President Donald Trump also criticized Thunberg following her deportation from Israel, calling her “a troublemaker” and “so crazy” for her radical activism.

“She has an anger management problem,” Trump told reporters.

“I think she should see a doctor.”

Despite her global fame as a climate activist, Thunberg has increasingly become a polarizing political figure.

She has been increasingly using her platform to accuse Israel of “genocide” while often downplaying Hamas’s role in terrorism.

Thunberg’s Shift

Thunberg first rose to prominence for climate strikes while still a teenager, eventually being elevated by international media as the face of “youth climate activism.”

But in recent years, her activism has shifted toward far-left political causes, often at the expense of her environmental message.

Her open embrace of anti-Israel narratives has led critics to accuse her of being little more than a career protester, leveraging her platform to support causes hostile to Western allies.

The latest outrage over her use of an Israeli hostage image underscores just how far Thunberg has moved from her original role as a climate activist and how deeply entangled she has become in pro-Hamas propaganda campaigns.
