Idaho Frozen Yogurt Shop Owners Receive Death Threats Over Charlie Kirk Tribute

A small business in Idaho is “receiving hate” after paying tribute to slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, with the owners reporting harassment, death threats, and online smear campaigns.

Grooveberries Frozen Yogurt, a family-owned shop in Coeur d’Alene, placed stickers featuring Kirk’s photo and the years “1993–2025” on its red yogurt cups.

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated last week while speaking at Utah Valley University.

Sarah and Chase Gibson, who opened Grooveberries in 2021 and are raising three children, told Fox News the backlash has been intense.

“We have been receiving hate,” Sarah Gibson said.

“Even someone saying we should be dead.”

Emails sent directly to the shop accused the couple of supporting “a piece of s**t person” and warned them not to “make a black and white Charlie Kirk recipe.”

On Facebook, detractors called the Gibsons “white supremacists” and told others not to shop there.

“I don’t like fascism mixed in my yogurt,” one user wrote.

Despite the attacks, the couple said local support has been overwhelming.

“I love how supportive our community is,” Gibson said.

“Their support for Charlie and what he stands for completely outshines the negativity.”

Gibson added that the reaction from the Left has revealed the depth of political hostility.

“People need to know that this is how [those on] the Left choose to handle people they don’t agree with,” she said.

She stressed that Kirk’s death has only strengthened their resolve:

“Charlie Kirk died a martyr for his faith in Jesus Christ.

“He spoke the truth even when it was hard.

“He never backed down from his stance on spreading the truth with the goal of saving the lost.

“We refuse to allow his voice to go silent.”

Political commentator Stephanie Hamill, who stopped by Grooveberries with her family, praised the shop’s gesture.

“That’s why it was so refreshing to see even small gestures of kindness — like a tribute cup honoring Charlie Kirk’s life in my own community,” Hamill said.

“Regardless of where anyone stands on Charlie’s political views, he was a husband and a father.

“His life was taken from him in one of the most horrific and public ways imaginable, and honoring his memory should never be controversial.”

The Gibsons said they have already placed another large order of Kirk stickers and intend to keep offering the tribute cups.

They also pledged to send proceeds to Kirk’s widow, Erika, for what they called a “blueberry budget,” referencing her public remarks after her husband’s assassination.
