Ilhan Omar: ICE Is Sending ‘Abducted’ Illegal Aliens to ‘Dungeons’

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) took aim at the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement efforts during a fiery town hall in Tennessee over the weekend.

Omar is claiming that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids are “shocking the world.”

The radical congressman compared the arrest and deportations of illegal aliens to abductions.

Speaking at Cane Ridge High School outside Nashville, Omar called for sweeping progressive reforms, including universal government-run healthcare, slashing military spending, and banning ICE agents from wearing protective masks during enforcement operations.

“We’re seeing people be abducted and sent to dungeons in foreign countries and people disappearing with no accounting for where they’ve gone,” Omar claimed, offering no evidence for the inflammatory statement.

She added, “The reality is when they come from one of us, they’re eventually going to come for all of us.”

The event was openly hostile to federal law enforcement.

Organizers posted signs reading “ICE NOT PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES” in all caps on the high school doors and blanketed the public school with fliers that read “Nashville stands with Ilhan.”

The town hall came just days after the passage of President Donald Trump’s sweeping tax and spending package.

The “Big Beautiful Bill” allocates billions for hiring additional ICE agents and upgrading federal immigration detention facilities.

Omar blasted the legislation, calling it the “big ugly bill.”

Omar also attacked ICE agents for wearing face masks during high-risk enforcement operations, insisting:

“When they see these kinds of images coming out of America, to them it is really shocking, and it should be to all of us as Americans.”

She did not mention the recent surge in assaults and shootings targeting ICE agents, including two separate attacks in Texas last month in which immigration officers came under gunfire.

Despite her inflammatory rhetoric, federal authorities have confirmed that 95 of the 196 illegal immigrants arrested in Nashville raids this spring had prior criminal convictions or pending charges, including rape and serious drug offenses.

Another 31 had already been deported at least once before.

But Omar’s town hall attendees, many of whom expressed deep opposition to the Trump administration, offered no such nuance.

“I’ve seen a dramatic drop in school attendance among Latino students,” said Joy Guss, a local public school employee.

“These raids are terrorizing our children.”

A California woman who identified herself as Julia said she was “extremely distraught” by workplace immigration enforcement, declaring:

“This is not the America I came to.”

Omar used the rally to attack her Republican colleague, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN).

Ogles represents the area and has been a vocal supporter of President Trump’s immigration policies.

Although the high school sits in a Democrat-leaning district, Ogles won reelection in 2024 with nearly 60% of the vote thanks to strong support from rural and suburban conservatives.

Joining Omar on stage was Tennessee state Rep. Justin Jones, a progressive Democrat activist who previously described ICE operations as “kidnappings.”

Jones went so far as to compare federal immigration enforcement to the Ku Klux Klan.

Despite the explosive comparisons, neither Omar nor Jones acknowledged the criminal records of those arrested, many of whom had been deported before or had violent convictions on their records.

As the Trump administration’s crackdown on sanctuary cities and criminal illegal aliens continues, Omar and other far-left Democrats appear more focused on defending those in the country unlawfully than on protecting American communities from repeat offenders.
