Radical Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is facing heavy criticism after mocking slain conservative leader Charlie Kirk.
During an interview just one day after his assassination, Omar was laughing at Kirk’s brutal murder and scoffing at tributes to his legacy.
Kirk, 31, founder of Turning Point USA, was gunned down Wednesday by a sniper while addressing students at Utah Valley University.
His death has been described by officials as a political assassination and has sparked mourning across the conservative movement.
Speaking with Zeteo, Omar dismissed claims that Kirk’s mission was rooted in civil discourse and instead branded his pro-America views “f***ed up.”
“There are a lot of people who are talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate,” Omar sneered.
“These people are full of s**t, and it’s important for us to call them out while we feel anger and sadness.”
The progressive “Squad” member laughed as she accused Kirk of spreading hate for the past decade.
She attacked Kirk for supporting Americans’ Second Amendment rights and for criticizing the far-left Black Lives Matter riots following the death of George Floyd in 2020.
“What I do know for sure is that Charlie was someone who once said guns save lives after a school shooting,” Omar said.
“Charlie was someone who was willing to debate and downplay the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police.
“There is nothing more f’ed up than to completely pretend that his words and actions haven’t been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so,” she added, laughing.
WATCH:
Kirk was one of the most visible conservative activists of his generation.
He co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012, transforming it into a powerhouse for conservative youth activism on college campuses nationwide.
Through fiery speeches, viral debate clips, and a commanding social media presence on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, Kirk galvanized millions of young conservatives with unapologetically pro-American, pro-Christian, and pro-Constitution messages.
Supporters have hailed him as a “martyr” for conservative ideals.
Many are noting that his voice for free speech and youth outreach changed the political landscape.
Omar’s remarks add to a string of controversial responses from Democrats, educators, and left-wing commentators who have appeared to celebrate or downplay Kirk’s murder.
Her mocking tone has intensified anger among conservatives.
They argue that Democrat leaders have fueled the kind of rhetoric that makes political violence against the Right possible.
