Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has escalated her rhetoric against President Donald Trump, labeling the sitting POTUS a “pedophile” while invoking Somalia’s execution of child abusers in comments that have ignited fierce backlash.
On social media, Omar referred to Trump as the “leader of the Pedophile Protection Party.”
The comment attempted to tie him to the Jeffrey Epstein files, despite the documents clearing Trump of any wrongdoing.
She then added:
“At least in Somalia they execute pedophiles not elect them.”

The comparison, appearing to suggest a death penalty outcome for a U.S. president, marks a dramatic new escalation from the Minnesota Democrat and member of the progressive “Squad.”
Omar has previously drawn controversy for inflammatory statements about the United States and Israel.
Clash Erupts as Trump Targets Minnesota Fraud
The confrontation intensified after President Trump publicly addressed massive fraud scandals unfolding in Minnesota.
Speaking during the week of February 9, Trump estimated that at least $19 billion has been lost through medical and state-assistance fraud schemes, some allegedly connected to individuals within the Somali community.
“Somalia has come in here—what they’ve done to our country, these people,” Trump said, directly criticizing Omar.
“They’ve come into our country, and what they’ve done with that fake congresswoman. She’s so bad.”

The escalating war of words comes as federal investigators and congressional Republicans increase scrutiny of both Minnesota fraud networks and Omar’s personal finances.
Wealth Surge Draws Congressional Attention
Years ago, Omar described herself as essentially having no net worth. Recent financial disclosures, however, indicate a dramatically different picture.
Her husband, Tim Mynett, has reportedly seen the value of his business holdings, including a California winery and a capital firm, rise by thousands of percentage points, with estimates placing Omar’s potential net worth above $44 million.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has pledged to investigate what he described as “3,500% gains,” while Omar has dismissed the probe as a “right-wing disinformation campaign.”
Pattern of Controversial Statements
Omar’s latest remarks follow a series of past controversies.
Last June, she claimed the United States was becoming “one of the worst countries” in the world after President Trump and Republican governors deployed the National Guard to stop anti-ICE riots.
Her newest comments, praising Somalia’s execution of sex offenders while attacking a sitting U.S. president, are likely to intensify scrutiny of the congresswoman as political tensions surrounding fraud investigations, immigration, and national security continue to rise.
With federal probes expanding and rhetoric escalating, the clash between Omar and President Trump shows no sign of cooling, underscoring the deepening divide at the center of America’s political conflict.
