An illegal alien truck driver is facing deportation and homicide charges after allegedly making an unauthorized U-turn on the Florida Turnpike that caused a deadly crash.
The horrific incident ended up killing three innocent people.
Harjinder Singh illegally entered the U.S. and later obtained a commercial driver’s license in California.
He was arrested on Tuesday and charged with three counts of vehicular homicide.
The charges were announced by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV).
In a statement, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said:
“This is a devastating tragedy made even worse by the fact that it was totally preventable.
“Illegal aliens that have no legal right to be in our country certainly should not be granted commercial drivers’ licenses.”
Authorities say Singh attempted to make a U-turn in an unauthorized area while operating a commercial semi-truck with a trailer in Fort Pierce.
His trailer jackknifed and collided with a minivan, killing all three passengers inside.
Jackson directly blamed California’s sanctuary-style policies for the disaster:
“Gavin Newscum’s pro-illegal alien policies have deadly consequences.
“Yet he continues to double down and put illegals over American citizens.”
Officials believe Singh crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally in 2018.
He remains in custody on both the state vehicular homicide charges and federal immigration violations.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has already issued a detainer, according to an X post from the Official White House Rapid Response account.
In a statement, FLHSMV Executive Director Dave Kerner said:
“The actions taken by the defendant while operating a commercial tractor-trailer are both shocking and criminal.
“Three people lost their lives as a result of his recklessness, and countless friends and family members will experience the pain of their loss forever.”
California law has allowed illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses since 2013.
Critics have long argued that the policy puts American lives at risk.
