The Independent Medical Alliance (IMA) is calling for a ban on the use Covid mRNA “vaccines” for children and pregnant women over soaring deaths and injuries among the “vaccinated.”
The physician-led nonprofit focused on medical freedom and transparency has launched a national petition campaign titled Smart Moms Ask.
The campaign seeks to pressure U.S. health agencies to remove mRNA “vaccines” from the childhood immunization schedule and prohibit their use in infants, children, and pregnant women.
It comes amid reports that President Donald Trump’s administration is preparing to remove the injections from the recommended shots for pregnant women, teenagers, and children.
The plan to remove the shots from the recommended routine was revealed by unnamed sources quoted by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
“The Department of Health and Human Services, led by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is expected to remove the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendations for those groups around the same time it launches a new framework for approving vaccines, the people said,” the WSJ reported.
The CDC’s current official recommendation is that everyone six months and older, including pregnant women, should receive Covid “vaccines.”
However, the halt on this recommendation is expected “in the coming days,” according to the WSJ.
The WSJ report clarified that it “wasn’t clear if the department is planning to remove the recommendation for Covid-19 shots entirely for those groups, or just suggest that patients talk with their doctors about risks and benefits.”
Meanwhile, the Smart Mom Ask campaign, which appeals to mothers as primary protectors of children’s health, is calling for the shots to be removed for pregnant women and children entirely due to safety concerns.
Led by ICU specialist and IMA President Dr. Joseph Varon, the initiative cites recent peer-reviewed studies alleging increased post-vaccination risks.
The campaign cites one study that reported a 620% spike in myocarditis among young men.
Other studies showed elevated miscarriage rates in post-marketing data and reduced conception rates among vaccinated women.
According to IMA, over 9.5 million U.S. children have received the mRNA Covid vaccine as of April 2025.
The IMA argues that these numbers are unacceptable given unresolved safety signals, especially considering that children are not at risk from Covid.
Federal agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) maintain that the benefits of Covid “vaccination” outweigh the risks.
However, IMA contends that the risk of injury and death from the “vaccines” is too high for low-risk groups such as children and pregnant women.
CDC data show 38,541 deaths have been linked to Covid injections since 2020.
However, a 2010 HHS-funded Harvard analysis found that fewer than 1% of adverse events are reported, meaning the data is vastly underreported.
The real number of deaths caused by Covid “vaccines” could exceed 3.8 million, compared to just 7,109 deaths that got propoxyphene pulled after nearly 30 years on the market.
“As of April, about 13% of children and 14% of pregnant women had received the most recent Covid shot, according to the CDC,” the WSJ notes.
Meanwhile, British cardiologist and author Dr. Aseem Malhotra says there is “overwhelming evidence” to ban the COVID-19 mRNA shots.
Dr. Malhotra is the newly appointed Chief Medical Advisor to the Trump administration’s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) initiative
Malhotra is a long-time ally of MAHA advocates like RFK Jr. and NIH head Dr. Jay Bhattacharya.
He’s campaigned for taxes on sugary drinks, worked to lower the amount of Brits taking statins unnecessarily, and worked with government leaders to remove ultra-processed foods from hospitals and schools, per The Daily Mail.
Malhotra is not formally employed by the federal government.
Yet, he will serve as a leading voice of the movement and work closely with grassroots groups to advance its policy agenda.
In a post on X earlier this week, Malhotra wrote:
“It’s what you’ve been waiting for,” he wrote.
“There is OVERWHELMING evidence to call for a moratorium on the mRNA Covid jabs & help the vaccine-injured. Let it rip.”
