Iran’s foreign minister has issued a warning over President Donald Trump’s jabs at the Islamic Republic’s so-called “supreme leader.”
The warning came on Friday, escalating postwar tensions just days after the U.S. delivered a crippling blow to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
In a defiant message posted on X, Abbas Araghchi accused the American president of using a “disrespectful and unacceptable tone” toward Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
He demanded that Trump show “respect” or face serious consequences.
“If Illusions lead to worse mistakes,” Araghchi wrote, “Iran will not hesitate to unveil its Real Capabilities, which will certainly END any Delusion about the Power of Iran.”
The post was filled with veiled threats and sharp rebukes, mocking Israel’s military response and portraying the Jewish state as dependent on the U.S. to survive the recent conflict.
Referring to U.S. intervention during the 12-Day War, Araghchi taunted:
“The Great and Powerful Iranian People, who showed the world that the Israeli regime had NO CHOICE but to RUN to ‘Daddy’ to avoid being flattened by our Missiles.”
His comments come just days after Operation Midnight Hammer.
The joint American-Israeli operation against Iran was ordered by President Trump.
The operation obliterated Iran’s key nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
The strikes brought Iran’s nuclear weapons program to a grinding halt and led to a Trump-brokered ceasefire.
The effort effectively ended the Islamic Republic’s escalation.
While Iranian leaders continue to claim victory, the facts on the ground tell a different story.
Khamenei declared that Tehran had delivered a “slap” to both Israel and the U.S.
However, the reality is that the regime suffered massive strategic and technological setbacks.
President Trump has dismissed Iran’s bluster as nothing more than posturing.
Trump rejected Khamenei’s victory claims as false and “foolish.”
In a Truth Social post earlier this week, he revealed that both U.S. and Israeli forces had located Khamenei and were prepared to eliminate him.
However, Trump said he personally chose not to authorize the strike.
“I refused to let our forces terminate Khamenei, even though we knew exactly where he was,” Trump wrote.
“I wanted peace.”
Araghchi, meanwhile, denied Trump’s recent remarks suggesting that new negotiations between Washington and Tehran were in the works.
“There are no negotiations underway,” he said, adding that Iran would act only “based on our national interests.”
Reuters reported that Araghchi also shot down any rumors of upcoming meetings with U.S. officials, directly contradicting earlier statements from Trump indicating that diplomacy might soon resume.
Even so, Trump hasn’t closed the door entirely.
In a final remark posted online, the president offered a simple but pointed reminder:
“I wish the leadership of Iran would realize that you often get more with HONEY than you do with VINEGAR. PEACE!!!”
Once again, President Trump made it clear: America will seek peace, but only from a position of overwhelming strength.
