In a shocking new revelation, an account linked to Israel’s national intelligence agency, Mossad, has raised serious allegations about Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s health and leadership.
Israel’s intelligence suggests that Khamenei spends much of his time sleeping and using drugs while much of Iran struggles with a lack of basic necessities like clean water and electricity.
The Mossad-affiliated account recently launched a premium subscription service on the social media platform X.
It made scathing remarks about Khamenei’s fitness to lead.
“How can a leader lead when they sleep half the day and spend the other half high on substances?” the account questioned in a post on Friday.
“Water, electricity, life!” the post continued, drawing attention to the dire situation in Iran under Khamenei’s rule.
The account, which has made several posts since its creation last month, is purportedly the official Mossad spokesperson in Farsi, the official language of Iran.
However, Israeli intelligence has yet to confirm its official affiliation.
This new social media presence appears to be a more provocative and satirical take on Mossad’s usual communication style.
The posts that openly criticize Khamenei’s leadership and his alleged drug use.
On July 9, the account posted: “Consuming drugs and conversing with spirits are not desirable traits for someone leading a country.”
This statement comes as part of a broader criticism of Khamenei’s actions, with accusations that his behavior is not only a personal failing but a national issue, especially as many Iranians suffer from severe shortages of basic services like clean water, electricity, and adequate education.
The Mossad-linked account has also shared information about Khamenei’s health, speculating on his ability to continue functioning as Iran’s Supreme Leader.
The account mentioned that Khamenei’s alleged drug use has been widely discussed in the past.
In 2022, an Iranian academic, Nour Mohamed Omara, claimed that Khamenei regularly uses drugs and operates a private village in Balochistan where drugs are produced, with strict control enforced by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“Many viewers do not know this, but Khamenei himself uses drugs,” Omara said during an interview on a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated TV station in Turkey.
“This village is run by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and no one is allowed in.”
Despite Khamenei’s public stance against drug use, calling it “un-Islamic” after the 1979 Iranian Revolution, these allegations paint a troubling picture of the Supreme Leader’s behavior and his ability to lead the country effectively.
The severity of penalties for drug-related offenses in Iran, including the death penalty, makes the irony of Khamenei’s reported drug use even more pronounced.
In addition to the personal attacks on Khamenei, the Mossad-affiliated account has also targeted the Iranian regime’s internal structure.
A post from the account revealed its knowledge of the identity of the newly appointed, though unnamed, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the Iranian Armed Forces’ central command.
This suggests that Mossad is keeping a close watch on the regime’s military movements, with the account even playfully engaging with followers, asking them to guess the commander’s identity and offering a “prize” to the “lucky winner.”
While the Mossad has typically kept a low profile in its public communications, these new posts signal a shift towards a more direct and even satirical approach to exposing the flaws of Iran’s leadership.
Beny Sabti, an Iran expert at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies, noted that the information shared by the account seemed to come directly from Mossad, which has long maintained a careful watch over the Iranian regime.
As Iran’s leadership faces mounting international pressure and internal strife, the Mossad-linked account continues to shine a light on the personal and political failings of Khamenei, urging the world to take notice of a leader who, according to these claims, spends more time in a drug-induced stupor than addressing the growing needs of his people.
