Longtime Democrat strategist James Carville launched into a profanity-laced tirade, raging against President Donald Trump’s sweeping “Big, Beautiful Bill” after it cleared the House in a razor-thin vote.
The House passed the landmark legislation, advancing Trump’s tax cuts, immigration crackdown, and energy reforms, by a 218–214 margin early Thursday morning.
Two Republicans, Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), joined Democrats in opposing the bill.
But for Carville, who has long styled himself as a no-holds-barred operator for the Left, the outcome wasn’t just a policy loss; it was a personal crisis.
Speaking on his “Politics War Room” podcast, Carville declared total war on the legislation.
He called on Democrats to abandon all internal debates and focus singularly on being “totally relentless” in opposing Trump’s “stinking” agenda, which Carville claims is “un-American.”
“We need to continue to talk about it,” Carville fumed.
“This has to be the rallying point of the Democratic Party from now to 2026.
“We don’t need to discuss any divisions in the party.
“We don’t need to discuss anything.
“We need to have a unified, totally vigorous, totally relentless, never looking back opposition to this.
“I have to say that I think our Democratic representatives in Congress [are] doing a good job.”
Carville said Democrats need to show the American people the “stench” of the Trump-backed legislation:
“Do anything you can to get this fish out in the sun so it can rot more, and people can get even a better sense of the stench that’s coming from this,” he said.
Bill Clinton’s former lead strategist didn’t stop there, however.
He urged left-wing activists to confront Republicans in public and disrupt any attempt to promote the bill.
“May I make a suggestion, teaching one of you?” Carville asked.
“Find out where some Republican has this on the road and show up.
“Make your own signs,” he urged.
“More veteran suicide, rural hospital closures, more forest fires. No weather service.”
Carville then spiraled into a series of increasingly bizarre and vulgar analogies.
He even suggested that national parks like Shenandoah might collapse under the weight of GOP budget cuts.
“I’m not telling you you shouldn’t take your family and drive on the Skyline Drive because it’s remarkable,” he continued.
“I do it all the time. But it may not be there.
“And that’s right. It may not be there.
“Just like the hospital in rural America, it may not be there.
“Veterans now are committing suicides at the rate of 17.6 a day.
“It’ll probably go up to 25 a day,” he claimed.
Then came the crescendo.
“So maybe you get your family, your extended family. A lot of people do,” Carville said.
“You got parents and grandparents, childrens, nieces, nephews, friends, hangers on, little snotnoses, diapers full of sh*t, whatever else comes with a family.
“And maybe you should motor to one of these rallies and hold up signs and let people see exactly what they’re doing.”
“They think they’re going to go with this bullshit and sell this giant stinking turd with a giant sewer fan blowing his odor all over the United States,” he said.
“And maybe you can ramp up the RPMs on that giant sewer fan and let people get the stench of how terrible and awful and un-American and un-Judeo-Christian Islamic tradition of ethical culture, anything that you want to think of.
“This thing is a giant stinking turd, and it needs a giant sewer fan to dispense its odor all over the country.
“It already is stinking. You gotta make it stink more.”
Carville’s hostility didn’t just target Republicans.
He also took a swipe at moderate Democrats and pundits who signaled they could work with the GOP on the bill.
“And pay no attention to the chin scratchers,” Carville said.
“Pay no attention to the institutionalists.
“Pay no attention to the as*holes that went on morning TV and said we can work with this guy or maybe we can meet him halfway.”
WATCH:
The meltdown follows Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries’ (D-NY) own grandstanding on the House floor, where the Minority Leader dragged out debate with a procedural stunt lasting for several hours.
Beginning at 4:53 a.m., Jeffries’ marathon speech forced exhausted lawmakers to sit through the early morning hours, several reportedly falling asleep in their seats.
Meanwhile, Trump celebrates his legislative win ahead of July 4th as Democrats like Carville are imploding.
His meltdown wasn’t just unhinged, it revealed the level of panic sweeping the Left as the MAGA agenda barrels forward.
