Longtime Democratic Party strategist James Carville issued a blunt warning to the Democrats linked to the 2024 election losses.
Carville asserted that, moving forward, the Democrats must distance themselves from former Vice President Kamala Harris and her allies.
Bill Clinton’s former top strategist said the Democratic Party wants nothing to do with those losers in 2028.
In the aftermath of the 2024 election, the relationship between the leaderless Democratic Party and former President Joe Biden, as well as Harris, has become increasingly strained.
There have been growing concerns over their future political influence.
Some prominent figures within the party are hoping they will fade into the background, clearing the way for a new generation of leaders.
Harris recently announced that she would not run for California governor.
While the news may be a blessing in disguise for the people of California, the move signals that Harris may still have presidential aspirations for 2028.
However, Carville swiftly dismissed the notion of Harris running again as the Democratic Party’s nominee in a 2028 race.
During a segment on his Politics War Room Podcast, Carville was asked by a listener whether Harris might run again with party backing.
Carville responded without hesitation: “Don’t be terrified.”
He went on to explain that her decision not to run for governor was a wise one and confirmed his belief that she would not be the Democrat nominee in 2028.
“Anybody that had anything to do with 2024, the party wants to move on from that,” Carville said.
“This isn’t anybody’s fault.”
Carville didn’t stop with Harris.
He extended the same warning to other figures closely tied to the 2024 election, including Harris’ former running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Carville emphasized that no one associated with the 2024 campaign should seek another run in 2028.
He argues it wouldn’t be the right political environment for them.
“This goes to Walz, too. I wouldn’t run again,” Carville said.
“That would be my – if I were your friend, if I would be your chief advisor, I’m doing this not from a personal standpoint.
“This is not going to be the environment that a 2024 Democrat—that the Democrats are not going to look to anybody that had anything to do with the 2024 campaign.”
Carville’s sentiment was echoed by his co-host, Al Hunt, who bluntly added:
“Joe Biden, would you please go take the restful retirement you so richly deserve?”

The comments reflect the growing frustration within the Democratic Party as they look to move past the failures and controversies of the 2024 election cycle.
Carville’s words serve as a stern message to those in the party who may be hoping to make another grab for power.
As Democrats face the reality of their electoral struggles, Carville’s advice suggests that the party is eager for a new direction and may not be as receptive to 2024 figures as they had hoped.
The question remains: who will step up to lead the party into the future, and will it be someone entirely new or a candidate willing to distance themselves from the failed legacy of 2024?
