Jasmine Crockett Blames GOP for Texas Floods: They Would Rather ‘Bury Their Constituents’ Than Fight ‘Climate Change’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) lashed out at Republicans, accusing them of wanting to “bury their constituents” by refusing to support “climate change” policies.

Crockett made the claims in the wake of deadly flash floods in central Texas.

The congresswoman used the tragedy to push climate alarmism and attack Republicans and President Donald Trump’s administration.

Speaking during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Weeknight,” Crockett accused Republicans of rolling back so-called “climate change” policies.

She claimed the “big, ugly bill” passed under GOP leadership was responsible for the Fourth of July weekend floods that killed more than 120 people.

“The reality is that we are going to continue to face emergencies, especially since, as we just got done with the ‘big, ugly bill,’ they are clawing back those things that would have hopefully started to cool this planet down, because they don’t believe in science,” Crockett said.

She added, “The least that they could do is believe in helping American people.

“Unfortunately, we continue to see Republicans decide that they want to bury their constituents instead of actually doing everything that they can to make sure that they live amazing and full lives.”

Crockett also took aim at Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, claiming her department was slow to respond.

However, this claim was disputed by officials familiar with the timeline of federal emergency response efforts, which began immediately after state requests were submitted.

The Democrat congresswoman’s remarks echoed a broader effort by left-wing lawmakers and media allies to politicize the disaster and blame Republicans for extreme weather events.

The narrative has long been pushed by climate activists, despite no scientific evidence tying isolated floods to “global warming” patterns.

Crockett’s rhetoric is just the latest in a string of inflammatory comments targeting conservatives.

Last month, she agreed with CNN analyst Michael Fanone’s claim that “Republicans want poor people to die as quickly as humanly possible.”

“I agree,” Crockett said.

“I don’t think that is a glitch, but that’s actually part of the design.”

The backlash against Crockett’s latest comments from Republicans was swift.

A spokesperson for the Trump White House, Abigail Jackson, condemned the comments as “shameful and disgusting.”

Jackson called out Democrats for using a natural disaster to score political points.

“Accusations that the National Weather Service was understaffed have been debunked by meteorologists, experts, and other public reporting,” Jackson said.

While Democrats continue to double down on their climate narrative, critics point out that Crockett and her party are attempting to weaponize a natural tragedy to justify radical energy policies and expanded federal control.

At the same time, they ignore the historic failures of government-backed climate initiatives and the devastating economic impact of Green New Deal-style legislation.

For millions of Americans in Texas and across the country, the top concern remains safety and recovery, not scoring ideological points or pushing anti-fossil fuel agendas.

Crockett’s remarks, accusing Republicans of deliberately harming their own voters, underscore the growing hostility of the Democratic Party toward any dissent from their climate orthodoxy, even in the face of real suffering.
