Controversial Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has doubled down on Democrats and their allies using Nazi comparisons against President Donald Trump.
Crockett insists that critics who link such rhetoric to political violence are “absolutely wrong.”
The remarks came during an interview with CNN host Kasie Hunt on “The Arena,” days after the political assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
Hunt pressed Crockett on whether Democrats’ repeated references to Trump and his supporters as “Hitler” or “fascists” may have fueled extremist violence.
“They’re absolutely wrong,” Crockett responded.
“Here’s the reality: They don’t want American people to know any forms of history. …
“When you look at an authoritarian … what they do is they try to basically say you have to do whatever the government says, even if that means that your personal freedoms are going to be subjected to whatever we say, whether it’s right or wrong.
“Right now, our personal freedoms are constantly under attack.”
Crockett didn’t provide any evidence of these claims, however.

Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative activist, was shot and killed on September 10 during a campus event in Utah.
Investigators later revealed that bullet casings at the scene were inscribed with anti-fascist slogans.
Crockett rejected suggestions that left-wing rhetoric played a role in the killing.
Instead, she defended her right to continue referring to Trump as a “wannabe Hitler,” a line she repeated on “The Breakfast Club” radio show just days after Kirk’s murder.
“Me disagreeing with you, me calling you, you know, ‘wannabe Hitler,’ all those things are … not necessarily saying, ‘Go out and hurt somebody,’” Crockett said.
“But when you’re literally telling people at rallies, ‘Yeah, beat them up’ and that kind of stuff, you are promoting a culture of violence.”
The progressive lawmaker, who has previously labeled Trump an “enemy to the United States” and mocked him as “Temu Hitler,” blamed Republicans for what she described as presuming the assassin was aligned with Democrats.
Her comments contrast sharply with those of Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA).
Fetterman urged Democrats to stop invoking Hitler comparisons.
Speaking to CNN on Sunday, before Kirk’s death was officially confirmed, Fetterman warned that such rhetoric only escalates political tensions.
“I think you just don’t ever, ever compare anyone to Hitler and those kinds of extreme things,” Fetterman said.
“Now, look what happened to Charlie Kirk. …
“We have to turn the temperature down.
“We can’t compare people to these kinds of figures in history.
“And this is not an autocrat.
“This is a product of a democratic election.”
Republicans have accused Democrats and the media of normalizing political violence, particularly since the July 2024 assassination attempt on President Trump.
They argue that repeated Nazi comparisons against conservatives have emboldened unstable radicals to carry out attacks.
