Jasmine Crockett: ‘There Is More Than Enough to Impeach Donald Trump’

Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is calling for impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump as she positions herself for a run at a U.S. Senate seat.

Crockett, a vocal critic of the president and his administration, made her position explicit during a Saturday debate with her Democrat primary rival, State Rep. James Talarico (D), at the Texas AFL-CIO political convention.

The hour-long event drew hundreds of labor union members.

“I think that there is more than enough to impeach Donald Trump,” Crockett said, citing the administration’s tariff policies among her grievances.

“Ultimately, do I think we should go through the formal process? Absolutely.”

Talarico stopped short of endorsing impeachment outright.

He said only that he believed the administration had “certainly committed impeachable offenses.”

Talarico did not clarify what those alleged “offenses” were, however.

Crockett has repeatedly attacked President Trump over a wide range of issues, particularly his aggressive immigration enforcement policies.

In recent remarks, she compared federal immigration operations to tactics used by Nazi Germany and accused the Supreme Court of authorizing what she described as “modern-day slave patrols.”

“Because when we look at other places — places that did things like go door to door, looking for people as they had to hide out, say, in an attic,” Crockett said during a House hearing earlier this month.

“Does that sound familiar to anybody?”

The comments were delivered during a hearing titled:

“Kidnapped and Disappeared: Trump’s Deadly Assault on Minnesota.”

In addition to targeting the president, Crockett has joined more than 70 House Democrats in co-sponsoring articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

They are accusing Noem of “systemic abuses of power” and civil rights violations related to Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.

“Secretary Noem has violated her oath and weaponized ICE against American communities,” Crockett said.

“What we are witnessing is not public safety — it is state-sanctioned violence.

“It is unconstitutional, it is dangerous, and it demands accountability.”

Crockett’s rhetoric comes as she seeks the Democrats’ nomination for the Texas Senate race, which will be decided in a March 3 primary.

The Democrat nominee will face the winner of a Republican contest that includes Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX), and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).

The escalating calls for impeachment underscore growing divisions in Congress as Democrats continue to push confrontational strategies against President Trump ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
