Jasmine Crockett Trashes ‘Low-Down, Scamming’ Trump, Boycotts SOTU: ‘Blatant Lies and Corruption’

Radical Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) boycotted President Donald Trump’s State of the Union (SOTU) address on Tuesday, launching a sharp attack on the POTUS ahead of his nationally televised speech.

In a statement ahead of the SOTU, Crockett accused President Trump of abusing power and declared she would not attend.

“Tonight, I will boycott Donald Trump’s State of the Union address,” Crockett said.

“The American people deserve better than a low-down, scamming wannabe king who plans to stand at that podium and spew more lies; and I refuse to legitimize the weaponization of the federal government, blatant lies and corruption, and the destruction of our Constitutional principles and democratic norms.”

Crockett, who is running in the Texas Democrat U.S. Senate primary, added that she was not sent to Washington “to coddle Donald Trump’s ego.”

“Instead of wasting time listening to Donald Trump lie to the American people, I will be back in Texas talking with families about the true state of our union: cuts to SNAP and Medicaid, rogue ICE agents on our streets, the Epstein cover-up, attacks on the First Amendment, and the unlawful tariffs that have made life too expensive for Texans,” she said.

She further claimed that the president is pursuing an “authoritarian agenda.”

“The current state of our union is grim, but it is not permanent,” Crockett said.

“I will spend tonight continuing the fight to actually strengthen the State of the Union.”

Conservatives Applaud President Trump’s Speech

While Crockett opted out, conservatives across the country praised President Trump’s address, which lasted just under two hours and energized Republican lawmakers.

“It’s not just an excellent speech, it’s mostly POTUS himself,” conservative radio host Mark Levin posted on X.

” He’s a truly historic leader.

“I know it drives DC nuts. Who cares.”

“Trump is a colossus; an amazingly patriotic speech,” Fox Business Senior Correspondent Charles Gasparino wrote.

“This is the best State of the Union Address I’ve ever seen,” conservative commentator Buck Sexton posted.

“Not just by Trump. By any President.”

“President Trump’s State of the Union put America’s greatness on full display—celebrating our war heroes, everyday heroes, and Olympic champions,” former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) wrote.

“The President delivered a home run State of the Union tonight,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) added.

Democrats Lash Out

Democrats, meanwhile, struck a different tone online.

Several prominent Democrat figures criticized the president as the speech unfolded.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) accused President Trump of “destroying the country” and posted, “That was boring.”

Liberal influencer Harry Sisson also attacked the speech.

“That State of the Union speech by Trump was humiliating for both him and the Republican Party,” Sisson wrote.

“He rambled incoherently, and Republicans clapped like seals the whole time, no matter what was said.

“I’m glad military heroes were honored, but he lied the entire time.”

A “Turnaround for the Ages”

President Trump described his second-term agenda as a “turnaround for the ages,” outlining what he characterized as major progress for the country.

The speech featured a range of invited guests, including everyday Americans, military heroes, the U.S. men’s hockey team following its gold medal win, families impacted by crimes committed by illegal aliens, and Erika Kirk, widow of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.

With Republicans preparing to defend their majorities in both chambers of Congress ahead of November’s midterm elections, and as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, President Trump closed with a forward-looking message.

“This July 4th, we will mark two and a half centuries of liberty and triumph, progress and freedom in the most incredible and exceptional nation ever to exist on the face of the Earth,” Trump said.

“And you’ve seen nothing yet.

“We’re going to do better and better and better.

“This is the golden age of America.”
