Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) sparked outrage after accusing millions of Americans who support President Donald Trump of being “mentally ill.”
Crockket made the remarks during a podcast appearance with liberal media figure Katie Couric.
In her remarks on Couric’s “Next Question” podcast, Crockett didn’t hold back.
The congresswoman labeled Trump’s base as mentally unwell and insisted that opposition to the president should be universal, not just partisan.
“We’ve got a mental health crisis in this country because everyone — no matter how you affiliate yourself — should be against Trump. Period,” Crockett declared.
Crockett, who represents Texas’s 30th congressional district, attacked Trump’s leadership while longing for a so-called “regular Republican.”
She mentioned George Bush, without clarifying which one, and lamented what she sees as the modern GOP’s shift toward populism under Trump.
“I would give anything to have — sad to say — George Bush,” she said.
“Give me any regular Republican nowadays, and I would be happy.”
But it didn’t stop there.
Crockett also criticized the recent U.S. Army 250th birthday celebration.
She was echoing Democrat talking points that the military parade had less to do with honoring service members and more to do with celebrating Trump’s birthday.
Of course, she offered the claim with no concrete evidence.
“This idea that we don’t care how many people get hurt, we don’t care how we prostitute our service members — you know, thinking that you have your own special little army that’s for you… It is sick,” she said.
“And anybody that supports it is also sick.”
Critics quickly slammed Crockett for equating patriotism and military pride with mental illness, and for the divisive rhetoric that labeled half the country “sick” for backing their president.
And while Crockett demanded “unity” against Trump, she took a sharp jab at the American electorate.
She blamed racism and sexism for former Vice President Kamala Harris’s poor political performance.
“She was more qualified to be president,” Crockett argued.
“But Americans chose the old white man,” she claimed, doubling down on a narrative that voters rejected Harris not because of her record, but due to their own supposed biases.

For many Americans, Crockett’s remarks were less a call for unity and more a glaring example of the Left’s contempt for working-class voters, religious conservatives, and anyone who dares to support Trump.
Her comments, critics say, reflect a broader pattern in the Democratic Party, one where disagreement is not tolerated but pathologized.
