Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) officially filed to run for U.S. Senate earlier this month, sliding in just before the deadline after weeks of signaling she wanted a “bigger voice.”
Her announcement immediately raised questions inside the Democratic Party.
The party is already struggling to manage its activist Left while maintaining basic political control amid a government shutdown of its own making.
Crockett insists Texas needs her voice in the upper chamber.
But voters are about to revisit the catalog of incendiary statements that made her a social-media celebrity and a growing liability for Democrats.
Attacks on Trump: “Wannabe Hitler,” “Enemy of the United States,” and Leading a Cult
Crockett has repeatedly insisted President Donald Trump is not merely wrong, but dangerous.
On MSNBC, she declared: “Unfortunately, we have someone that is occupying the White House and as far as I’m concerned, he is an enemy to the United States.”
She has accused Trump of having supporters “in a cult,” saying, “Instead of being dragged to hell by this dude who obviously has them in a cult,” people need to “prioritize themselves.”
And she has labeled Trump a “wannabe Hitler” and a “piece of sh*t,” arguing that his policies are “dealing death” and warning that “the grim reaper is lurking.
“Sadly enough, the grim reaper is the president and his minions at this point.”
She has also claimed Trump is using Hitler’s playbook:
“That is a playbook out of Hitler.
“And I won’t deny it. Like these are the facts.”
Racial and Historical Claims, from ‘Concentration Camps’ to ‘We Done Picking Cotton’
Crockett alleged Trump’s immigration enforcement policies amounted to throwing people into “concentration camps,” saying the administration was “snatching people off the streets and throwing them down in what I would consider to be concentration camps or prisons.”
She also argued that America relies on illegal immigration because, in her words, “we done picking cotton. We are.
“You can’t pay us enough to find a plantation.”
Comments About Crime, Nazis, and January 6
During a CNN appearance, Crockett said violent crime was primarily driven by white supremacists.
“You don’t have to trust me,” she said.
“But the people that commit 80% of the most violent crimes in this country are white supremacists,” who she claimed “were there on January 6th, tearing our democracy down physically.”
She also referred to Trump as a white supremacist backed by others just like him.
Grocery Prices, Deportation, and the Economy
Crockett has claimed Republican immigration policies cause rising food prices and housing costs.
“The reason you’re not going to be able to afford your food is because of these failed immigration policies,” she said on CBS News, arguing that deportations would harm the economy.
Insults Directed at Opponents, Including Disabled Governor Abbott
Crockett once referred to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels” and a “hot-ass mess.”
She later insisted she was not referring to his disability but to “the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by black mayors.”
She also accused Trump’s administration of “protecting pedophiles and criminals,” despite her own party’s resistance to deporting illegal immigrant offenders.
Democracy Doom-Casting: “We Don’t Even Know If We Will Have Elections”
On CNN, when asked about future Democratic primaries, Crockett warned:
“We don’t even know what elections will look like in four years or if we will have elections.”
Legislative Theatrics, from the ‘State of DisUnion’ to DEI Defense
Before one of Trump’s State of the Union addresses, Crockett posted:
“Well… the State of the DisUnion will begin shortly.”
The post included a video of Crockett dancing in her office.

She later walked out wearing a “Resist” shirt.
She also accused Republicans of pushing a “demonic agenda,” saying at a DOGE Subcommittee hearing:
“Another attempt by Republicans to distract from their demonic and disastrous policies.”
Claims About Charlie Kirk and Minority Targeting
Crockett asserted that Charlie Kirk “continuously put out” rhetoric targeting minorities, saying “there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color.”
Accusations Against the GOP on SNAP Reform
When Christian lawmakers proposed reforms to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Crockett accused them of being “set on taking food from the hungry.”
Disrespecting Victims of Democrat Policies
In September, Crockett (D-TX) sparked outrage after she dismissed the brutal rape and murder of 20-year-old Kayla Hamilton.
During a heated House Judiciary Committee markup, Crockett blasted Hamilton as just a “random dead person.”
House Republicans slammed Crockett’s “disgusting behavior” over the remark.

A Senate Run Defined by Her Own Words
Whether Crockett’s progressive brand can survive a statewide race in Texas remains to be seen.
What is certain is that Democrats now have to defend a candidate whose long record of incendiary claims, insults, and apocalyptic predictions will dominate headlines.
