Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight is sounding the alarm over New York City’s political future, warning in a new video message that Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani poses a grave threat to the city’s stability, safety, and foundational values.
In a video posted on X, Voight accused Mamdani of steering New York toward radical socialism and said the newly elected mayor will “take down the city that never sleeps,” turning it into “a forbidden place of darkness.”
“This mayor will destroy this city,” Voight declared.
Voight Calls Mamdani a Danger to NYC’s Core Values
The actor blasted the 35-year-old mayor-elect as unqualified and dangerous, accusing him of trying to impose far-left ideology on a city built through generations of hard work.
Voight insisted that New Yorkers must defend their livelihood and personal freedoms:
“We are obligated to demand our rights for our private sanctuary, our businesses, our property… and this 35-year-old mayor has no right dictating the rules of socialism for a city built on our highest principles.”
He said Mamdani’s mayoralty should be “terminated immediately.”
Voight warned residents that New York is “in danger of losing your city to this communist fool.”
The Hollywood star is calling on Americans to defend the nation’s values: faith, liberty, justice, and patriotism.
“Only Donald J. Trump Can Stop This Horror”
Voight, one of Hollywood’s most outspoken conservative voices, said the only person capable of halting the city’s decline is President Donald Trump.
“He, and only he, can stop this horror as this mayor, Mamdani, will try to destroy New York’s wealth and turn it into a socialist crap city,” Voight said.
Voight urged New Yorkers to see Mamdani’s agenda as a direct attack on the American dream and a test of national resolve.
“This country… is the land of our greatest achievement — the American dream,” he said.
“Let this be a warning to the people — and may God bless.”

Mamdani has not publicly responded to Voight’s comments.
Mamdani’s Victory Sparks Celebrity Divide
Mamdani won the November 4 New York City mayoral election, defeating independent candidate Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
His victory has sharply divided public figures.
Democrat actress Cynthia Nixon celebrated Mamdani’s win, posting photos with him and calling him “a miracle of nature.”
Meanwhile, actor Michael Rapaport has repeatedly ripped Mamdani online, blasting him for dining at “one of the priciest joints in NYC” while living in a rent-stabilized apartment.
Voight’s video marks one of the strongest celebrity warnings yet about the direction of New York City under Mamdani.
It comes as political commentators nationwide debate whether the nation’s largest city is heading for a revival or a steep decline.
