“The View” co-host Joy Behar has claimed that “democracy isn’t working” because Americans have been voting for President Donald Trump.
Behar claimed during Friday’s broadcast of the ABC propaganda show that American democracy stopped “working” when Trump returned to the White House after winning the 2024 election.
However, Behar argues that democracy “was working” when Democrat former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama were elected.
She made the remarks while citing polling that showed a majority of voters believe the U.S. is facing a political crisis and that democracy “isn’t working.”
Behar then blamed the nation’s problems squarely on Trump.
“So if you’re worried about where the country is heading, you’re not alone,” Behar said.
“Seventy-nine percent of American voters think that the U.S. is in a state of political crisis.
“And more than half think democracy isn’t working,” she added.
“It’s funny, under Obama and Biden, it was working.
“All of a sudden, it’s not working.
“Gee, what happened?!” she asked rhetorically.
Conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pushed back.
Griffin suggested that Behar was misinterpreting the poll.
“I know, but I’m saying it!” Behar admitted
“I’m saying that!” she insisted.
Co-host Ana Navarro then weighed in.
Navarro blamed the intelligence of the American people for electing Trump as their president.
She claimed that the president only won reelection because voters had “forgotten how bad Trump was” during his four years out of office.
“I think it meant a lot to people in 2020 when Joe Biden was first running because we were just surviving that first Trump term,” Navarro said.
“I think if someone was running now against Trump when people have been painfully reminded of what an authoritarian he is, it would be very different.”
Navarro went further, arguing that America’s checks and balances had “stopped working” under Trump.
She continued by expressing frustration that Democrat-aligned activist federal judges issuing orders against the president did not “have the teeth” to enforce them more effectively.

The exchange underscored the continuing hostility from liberal commentators and the corporate media as a whole.
They continued to insist that Trump’s presidency represents a threat to democracy, even though he won a landslide election.
Despite claims from the co-hosts of “The View” and other liberal talking heads, polling shows deep public frustration with the political establishment itself.
The irony of Behar’s claims that leftist propaganda is the greatest “threat to democracy.”
