Joy Behar Stuns Viewers, Agrees with GOP on Ilhan Omar: ‘I Don’t Believe Her – That Is a Worldwide Trope’

“The View” co-hosts had wildly different takes on House Republicans booting Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from her coveted Foreign Affairs Committee assignment today.

Joy Behar stunned the show’s viewers by throwing Omar under the bus.

Behay said she does not believe Omar when she claimed that she didn’t know her comments were anti-Semitic.

She said she found it hard to believe Omar’s claims because her comments are widely known to be an anti-Semitic trope.

“She said that she did not know that what she said was a Jewish trope, that people equate money with Jews, I don’t believe her.”

One of the other co-hosts then tried to defend Omar by saying that she is an immigrant.

Behar wasn’t buying it though and shot back, saying: “She’s been here a long time and that is not a trope that is just here in this country, that is a worldwide trope.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin disagreed, saying she takes Omar “at her word.”

She continued by claiming that Omar didn’t know she was using an anti-Semitic trope.

Hostin then alleged, without evidence, that Omar was kicked off the committee due to racism.

Sara Haines agreed with Behar and defended the GOP from booting her from the Foreign Affairs Committee, however, and explained that Omar keeps saying anti-Semitic things.

“Omar apologizes but then steps back in the same puddle and eventually your actions speak louder than words,” Haines said.

On Thursday, House Republicans voted to remove Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee over past controversial comments she made about Israel.

The resolution, introduced by Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), stated that Omar “has disqualified herself from serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, a panel that is viewed by nations around the world as speaking for Congress on matters of international importance and national security.”

Democrats were outraged over the move, with many pushing false claims about the reason for Omar’s disqualification.

Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) said: “The white supremacy happening is unbelievable.

“Ilhan Omar has been harassed at her job for simply existing as a Muslim woman in Congress.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) gave an animated speech on the floor that was loaded with false allegations.

“One of the disgusting legacies of 9-11 has been the targeting and racism against Muslim Americans and this is an extension of that legacy,” AOC said.

“Racism and incitement of violence against women of color.”

Omar said she is not going anywhere if she is removed:

“It’s not only a political stunt but also a blow to the integrity of our democratic institution and threat to our national security.

“My voice will get louder and stronger! My leadership will be celebrated around the world, as it has been!”

“Rep. Omar certainly has made mistakes,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said.

“Ilhan Omar has apologized.

“She has indicated that she’ll learn from her mistakes, is working to build bridges….with the Jewish community.”
