Twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris has claimed that President Donald Trump’s supporters are complaining to her because he supposedly misled them on immigration enforcement and the economy.
Harris claims she has spoken to Trump voters who regret backing him.
In an interview with former CNN anchor Don Lemon, Harris alleged that Trump’s immigration crackdowns are targeting “hardworking people” rather than only criminals, as she claimed many voters expected.
“I’ve talked to so many people who say, people who voted for Trump who say, ‘Well, we thought he was just going to go after what he said were criminals, but he’s going after hardworking people,” Harris said.
“And they feel lied to,” she claimed.
However, the former vice president provided no evidence that she’s spoken with disgruntled Trump voters.
Harris made the comments in Chicago while promoting her memoir, “107 Days.”
The book details her failed 2024 presidential campaign.
The title refers to the brief window she had to mount a bid after former President Joe Biden withdrew and endorsed her as the Democrat nominee.
Attacking Trump While Selling Books
The former vice president repeatedly accused Trump of dishonesty.
She said Americans “deserve better” than what she described as corruption and incompetence from the White House.
“There are a lot of people that feel lied to because he has lied to a lot of people,” Harris told Lemon.
“I think people are going to come out in big numbers … to say that we know that we deserve better, and we want more of our government than the weaponization of the rule of law.”
She also promoted a George Soros-funded protest movement called “No Kings.”
Harris described the violent leftism as a way for Americans to “activate” against Trump.
Lemon, who left CNN last year after a string of controversies, praised Harris during the interview.
He said he was “proud” of her while commending the book.
A Consistent Critic of Trump
Harris has used her book tour to sharpen her attacks on Trump.
However, reviews of “107 Days” have been mixed to negative.
Critics are noting her tendency to blame others for her 2024 defeat.
On MSNBC’s “The Weekend Sunday,” Harris said the indictments of former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James show Trump is on a “vengeance campaign” against political opponents, and she claimed Americans “can’t trust” the Department of Justice under his leadership.
At the same time, Harris struck a rare conciliatory note, saying “the president and his team” deserved credit for helping secure the release of Israeli hostages from Hamas as part of a ceasefire agreement.
Harris drew the line at crediting Trump by name.
