Kamala Harris Hits Campaign Trail to Back ‘AOC of Tennessee’ in Trump Country: She ‘Must’ve Fallen Out of the Coconut Tree’

Failed Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris has faced mockery for returning to the campaign trail to stump on behalf of a radical Democrat candidate in a district that heavily supports President Donald Trump.

For the first time since losing the 2024 election, Harris returned to the campaign trail on Tuesday.

She did so on behalf of one of the most radical Democratic Party candidates in the country.

Harris made a surprise appearance in Nashville to headline a canvassing kickoff for Aftyn Behn, the far-left Tennessee state representative.

Behn has been nicknamed the “AOC of Tennessee” due to her leftist agenda.

The stop came between a visit to Fisk University and a promotional event for Harris’s memoir 107 Days at the Ryman Auditorium.

It was Harris’s first campaign event for any candidate since voters handed the White House decisively to Trump last year.

Democrats, fresh off gubernatorial wins in Virginia and New Jersey, are pouring resources into the deep-red 7th Congressional District, a district Democrats have not touched in decades.

Republicans, meanwhile, see Harris’s involvement as a sign of desperation.

RNC spokeswoman Delanie Bomar mocked Harris in a statement by referencing the former vice president’s infamous “coconut tree” story, saying:

Kamala Harris must’ve fallen out of the coconut tree if she thinks the AOC of Tennessee stands a chance.

“This is Trump country and Republicans will win Dec. 2.”

Harris didn’t even mention Behn by name during her remarks at Hadley Park, but urged attendees to “get out the vote,” according to The New York Times.

She claimed she was in Tennessee because “the power is in the South.”

Her appearance follows an earlier rally this month in support of California’s redistricting ballot initiative, a partisan effort Democrats used to counter Republican redistricting victories in Texas and beyond.

With “Prop 50” passing, Democrats now expect up to five additional blue seats in California.

The Left’s Newest Progressive Star

Behn is a self-described “p—ed off social worker.”

She says she jumped into the race because Republicans passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a sweeping package that delivered tax cuts, Medicaid reform, and regulatory rollbacks.

Behn claims, without evidence, that it was “a giveaway to the wealthy” and “the largest transfer of wealth from working people to the rich in American history.”

Her record includes years of activism, online organizing, and a progressive agenda nearly identical to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

She authors a Substack linked directly from her campaign’s “Issues” page.

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin campaigned for her last week, touting her pledge to lower “healthcare and grocery costs,” “release the Epstein files,” and “stand up to Trump and his acolytes like Van Epps.”

Behn’s campaign is fully backed by both the Democrat establishment and the radical progressive movement that is taking over the party.

Progressive activist David Hogg joined her for multiple events in Nashville, telling young voters:

“If young people turn out and vote here, we can flip this seat and send a clear message to Donald Trump and Republicans… that we are done with their bulls—.”

Trump, GOP Unite Behind Van Epps

Republicans, meanwhile, have consolidated support behind GOP nominee Matt Van Epps, a former Tennessee Department of General Services commissioner who won a packed primary field.

Van Epps has earned endorsements from President Trump, Gov. Bill Lee, and retiring Rep. Mark Green.

Green notably helped pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that Democrats now rail against.

Trump headlined a tele-rally for Van Epps last week in a district he carried by roughly 22 points in 2024.

MAGA Inc., the leading pro-Trump outside group, launched a seven-figure TV and digital ad blitz on Wednesday, its first since Trump’s reelection victory.

The RNC has also deployed staff and is making a six-figure investment in turnout operations.

Tennessee’s 7th District covers parts of Nashville along with a wide suburban and rural territory.

It’s a region that Democrats have not flipped in generations.

Harris may insist “the power is in the South,” but Republicans say the race is shaping up to be yet another test of how out of touch the Democratic Party has become.

And in a district where Trump remains overwhelmingly popular, Behn’s “AOC of Tennessee” branding may prove to be the biggest liability of all.
